Hi <<First Name>>—
Happy Sunday & Happy Birthday to our CEO Lindsey
Happy Sunday! It's the 40th birthday of our amazing CEO Lindsey Miller (and who I'm honored to call my wife and life partner). She's in Italy touring that amazing country and culture while I hold down the fort back home (my idea). Be sure to send her a happy birthday and comment on how great her hair looks.
Our Agency Showcase Program in Beta
Today, you'll see in this newsletter our first Agency Case Study, which I teamed up with Lindsey's team at Content Journey to do. The idea behind publishing case studies for agencies is simple: Show how we can do Cooperative Marketing and Promotion.
This case study is not necessarily for you, but intended to bolster and support our agency members' own marketing by leveraging the Post Status platform and channels.
It's collaborative content marketing. External social proof + SEO content on behalf of our member.
In these case studies, we want to show off the magic of WordPress THROUGH the work and expertise of our Agency Members. Everybody wins.
Second, last week I interviewed three experts at enterprise agency Modern Tribe on WordPress Accessibility. It's something Modern Tribe does well for name brand institutions and they were great to work with.
The final output will be "The Right Approach to WordPress Accessibility." The intention is to help their prospective clients, and particularly their leadership, design, development and publishing teams think about, navigate and ultimately embrace accessibility. Content Journey is currently working on that output, but it will likely turn into blog posts, ebook, polished recorded video and audio and social clips, published at Post Status, but shared with Modern Tribe for their own use. (I'll share it all here when we've got finished.)
If you'd like to be considered for the Agency Showcase Beta work we're doing, let us know here. And be sure to join the Agency Owners channel in Slack as I'm working to keep our conversations and community going for how we can cooperate together.
—Cory Miller

Yoast Weighs in on AI Content
Yoast's Sam Alderson posted about AI Content and whether it helps or hurts your SEO.
- AI-generated content is becoming increasingly popular due to its ease of use and scalability, but it lacks originality and authenticity.
- Algorithms can replicate existing patterns and preferences, resulting in content that reinforces stereotypes, bias, and exclusionary practices.
- Content creators must be aware of the data and algorithms used by AI tools to ensure their content is authentic, diverse, and inclusive.
- They should strive to create content that is accessible to the broadest possible audience to break the cycle of repeating the same content.
- Tools such as Yoast SEO's Inclusive Language Analysis are available to help identify the non-inclusive language for a more equitable internet for future generations.
Yoast Inclusive Language Improvements
Speaking of Yoast SEO's Inclusive Language Analysis, Edwin Toonen wrote a post about the updates to the feature in Yoast 19.14:
- Yoast SEO 19.14 includes the first wave of improvements to the inclusive language analysis.
- Fine-tuned list of non-inclusive phrases and expanded with more words.
- Added more alternatives for some terms to suggest changes.
- Improved feedback writers receive.
- Takes into account the context of phrases with function words, participles, and punctuation marks to determine if terms are used in a non-inclusive way and provide feedback for potential changes.
All In One SEO Patches Multiple Stored XSS Vulnerabilities in Version 4.3.0
The All In One SEO plugin has recently patched multiple stored XSS (cross-site scripting) vulnerabilities in version 4.3.0, which could have potentially allowed attackers to bypass security measures and inject malicious code into a website's pages. The vulnerabilities were discovered by security researchers who notified the developers of the plugin, and the issue was quickly addressed with the release of version 4.3.1. Website owners are strongly advised to update their All In One SEO plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to ensure their websites remain secure and protected against attacks.

AGENCY #agency-owners, #gigs
This is our first Agency Case Study, showcasing the work of our Agency Members.
Mimimi Games came to their friends at Post Status agency member Luehrsen // Heinrich with a challenge. They were about to launch a new Triple A game, but while the game would be high-profile, it wouldn’t necessarily have a large budget to build. Not only that, but the gaming company wanted a site full of detailed custom Blocks that they could edit in the future on their own when necessary.
Hendrik Luehrsen believed his team was up to the challenge of building the “Shadow Gambit” website. He knew WordPress would allow them to build a website as detailed, customizable, and editable as Mimimi wanted. Read

Brian Gardner On the Past, Present and Future of WP
In this episode, Brian Gardner, Principal Developer Advocate at WPEngine, joins Cory Miller to discuss the solid foundation WordPress established and how it might continue to expand into the future.
Most might not know, but Brian and I go way back to 2006. His WP story and mine are VERY parallel. And for good reason ... because we were BFFs talking on GTalk about WP, while at our day jobs, and building cool things on the side with WP. Also, he was instrumental in helping me start iThemes. So it was nostalgic, compelling, overdue and refreshing for me to talk to Brian. Listen →

Your Legacy Matters
Back in 1986 my grandmother and I went shopping and bought “a ton” of flannel fabric. She was going to make pajamas for all of her grandchildren. But then she got sick and in 1988 she passed away. I found the fabric as we were cleaning out her apartment and took it home with me.
That spring I cut it all up into squares and sewed a quilt top out of it. But I had no idea how to actually make it into a quilt – and there was no internet yet to Google it.
For 34 years that quilt top went from home to home in a gallon-sized ziploc bag. It stayed in that plastic bag in a closet as I graduated from college. And as I had my daughter. And got married. And divorced. As I changed jobs. And as I have aged and matured.
It stayed in that plastic bag until this past fall. I traded photography with a high school friend who does long arm quilting. And she finished the quilt. And dropped it off to me today.
It took 35 years – but I have a quilt now that I feel my grandmother’s love in, and that someday will be my daughter's and she will feel my love in when she wraps herself up in.
Community is like that. We started as something and we've carried that something with us. We've grown. We've added members. We've lost members. And still the fabric of who we are is there with us all.
Remember that. Take that with you as you contribute to community. As you lean into it. And as you take breaks from it. You're the fabric of it. You matter. Your legacy here matters.
