The Big Apple
Jane Jeffries, PTC client, travel writer and blogger took her daughter (newly graduated from University) on a mother and daughter trip to the US to visit the Big Apple with stopovers in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Jane has kindly shared with us her experiences.
New York, here we come
It dawned on me while planning this trip, how special it was going to be. A traveling companion can define an experience so although I have been to New York many times I’ve never been with my daughter.

Credit Card Travel Insurance
– are you really covered??
When paying for travel many of us want to pay by credit card not only to get points, but also for the travel insurance which is often attached to the card.
The Private Travel Company advisors tell clients who want to use credit card insurance to check they are covered. Imagine swanning off on your expensive vacation without actually checking your policy, your eligibility and emergency contact details – Scary!
Recently a client read their fine print. They found they needed to send the insurance company a copy of their itinerary for approval prior to travel as they were going to Cuba.
Another client thought she was covered for the 32 days of her holiday but she was only covered for 30 days. Also her dependent daughter was travelling with her but returning at a later date so wasn’t covered.
I decided to investigate travel insurance so contacted my own credit card companies..... Read More

CRUISING
“I’ve Booked a Cruise”
by Mandy Brown
I’ve done it, I’ve booked my husband and I on a Cruise. We have always been a sailing couple, both of us growing up with family yachts, sailing small boats to cruising many places in New Zealand and around the world. My husband dives and we love spending time on and around the ocean.
Over the past year I have spent some time with the very knowledgeable people from Cruise World learning a great deal about cruising and the different types of cruises. The Private Travel Company’s very own Cruise Master, Sandra Barclay-Graham has also been a wealth of information about different Cruise Companies. One thing that always comes up in conversation is “there is a cruise for everyone”.
Having considered many cruise companies we made the decision that the one we would definitely consider was Seabourn. When Seabourn released a special recently of an upgrade to a Veranda Suite on select cruises we had a look at the cruises available and cruise dates, deciding that 10 days in the Caribbean would be a great first cruise experience for us. Kerry, our Travel Advisor, has made the booking and we depart in late October. Looking forward to it.
It's not too late to cruise this year Seabourn has just released a new one week sale, there is limited availability. Contact us and we can find a cruise for you. Scroll down for details on Seabourn's Sale.
