Dear <<First Name>>

Welcome to our September newsletter! I am delighted with the incredible progress that we are making to support police sport and wellbeing through amazing, hosted sporting and networking events.

Everyone who attended our Golf Day at the Forest of Arden said just how much the enjoyed the event. Congratulations to Shirley Fleming of Police Scotland on achieving the best score in a very competitive field. The sun also shone on a wonderful new event, a Women’s T20 at Knebworth (not just for Robbie Williams or Oasis!). It was a great day, played with fantastic spirit with Hertfordshire CCC running out worthy winners against a talented National Police Team. Both teams came through enthralling semi-finals against the MCC and National Asian Cricket Council. We hope to run this event again next year and would love to hear from sponsors that could help make this happen…

The National Cricket Finals was a fitting end to the summer season and despite the autumn weather arriving just a few hours too early, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day of sport and conversation. Well done to both teams in a mutually agreed draw. It was also a very poignant day when we presented the inaugural Simon Cole “Spirit of Cricket” Award to Richard Hewes of Kent. Simon was a personal friend and colleague from my days as Chief Constable in Lincolnshire and he is deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. His tragic passing serves to emphasise the importance of everything we are doing to promote better health and wellbeing in the Police Service.

Many thanks to all our sponsors, particularly Hublesoft, AWS and Serve and Protect for their support of our recent events. We are delighted and encouraged at how relationships are developing with all our sponsors and look forward to a bright and productive future.

We are continuing to see the sporting calendar fill up. In collaboration with Police Sport UK sections, we have a number of great events, including rugby, football, golf and cricket, that will offer spectating at excellent competitions and opportunities to network with officers and staff from across policing. We are already looking forward to the National Sports Awards in March!

Please view our latest sponsor event schedule - and thank you for supporting and being part of TeamPolice.
