Blessed By Our Trustees

Just last week, the Fall meeting of the Board of Trustees was held. We were hoping to gather on the campus, but the strange events of 2020 made us opt for a Zoom meeting instead.

I was hoping that we would get through the formalities and record necessary decisions. Zoom meetings have their limitations. But, it turned into an amazing time with warm discussions, outstanding committee meetings, and good progress in every area.

Our Board is a devoted team of highly committed women and men. Increasingly we have diversified and now have District leaders, pastors of thriving churches, a lawyer, medical doctor, State representative, and business people serving. Each meeting causes me to stand back in awe at the remarkable group of people who take overall responsibility for our great College.

Last week four new members were added to the Board of Trustees:

  • Dr. Mark Zweifel pastors a dynamic church in Fairbanks, Alaska. He is also a Trinity alumnus.
  • Rev. Steve Donaldson leads Rural Compassion and is a champion of all things rural.
  • Rev. Clemente Mondonaldo is a regional Superintendent for our Hispanic churches based in greater Chicago.
  • Finally, Burl Evans is a rancher and businessman from North Dakota.
Join me in welcoming them. I know they, like all the others, will serve us well.

Among the many important decisions made and conversations had the Board took a very important step forward. It is my pleasure to inform you that the Board agreed to establish the Isaac and Martha Neely ScholarshipThis is a 100% tuition scholarship that will be awarded to exceptional students from minority ethnic backgrounds who have a clear, demonstrable commitment to Christian missions, either internationally or domestically.

The bold decision to make this award available seeks to correct two things. Firstly, to create great learning opportunities for communities that are often disadvantaged and secondly, to endeavor to correct the low level of minority participation in cross-cultural mission.

I salute our Board, their spouses, and their constituencies. They serve us so well. I am enriched by serving alongside these great people.

Thank you for your interest and support.
