Adapting to a New World of Recruiting

We are navigating a very interesting time when it comes to recruiting for next fall. It is hard to imagine how we got to this point: Spring 2020 coming to an end two months early! As athletic recruiters, that makes it very difficult because we miss out on College Days and two Preview Days that are a great opportunity for us to show off the campus.

I truly mean "show off the campus" too! We have a beautiful campus and it really shows well, especially to potential athletes. The Fern and Jon Liechty Fitness Center is a tremendous tool for recruiting. The Ray Ulmer Field House is spacious and the repainting/refinishing of the floor in 2013 has provided a nice modern look.
Add these in with the finishing of Davidson Hall, the Prayer Chapel and the updates to the Roy Wead Education Center, the campus is absolutely beaming with life. If you haven't been on campus in a couple of years, I highly recommend stopping by and seeing it first-hand!

Without the opportunities to get potential students on campus, we will have to get creative. We will use our social media to the best of our abilities to give students a chance to see what life will be like if they choose Trinity in the fall.

We will have to rely more on phone calls and texting to create a relationship with the prospective students to determine if they are the right fit for Trinity. With that being said, I am confident in the abilities of our coaches and in the abilities of our Enrollment office to adapt to a world of recruiting we have never seen before!
Lastly, I wanted to send out a thank you to the Trinity Alumni. Over the past three weeks, I have talked to at least five potential students who are interested in attending in the fall because their "youth pastor graduated from Trinity." I love talking to them about how much a Trinity graduate has shaped and molded their lives for the better. Your leadership really shows well on Trinity and I thank you for that! We really do graduate the best!

If you know of anyone that would be a good fit for Trinity athletics, please have them fill out a recruit me form which is located on our website at (and linked below)! Go Lions!
