Message From Chris

The crowds went wild for one last time this weekend past with Hawthorn’s last Tasmanian game and we at TNT are working with Hawthorn to plan for next year already!

In the midst of winter the TNT team has been hard at work lining up spring promotions and a new regional website! Both of which are work in progress, but you’ll hear from us real soon regarding opportunities to get involved and timing for both launches.

Following 3 months of stakeholder consultation, market research and review, we are in the final stages of drafting a 3 year plan for Northern Tasmania. This will give us all a clear view on where we should be going as a tourism destination, and what we need to get done.

Over spring we’ll be out to see you all with this draft plan seeking your final input before its completed.

To align with the new website, TNT are building a website for potential visitors to the North.
Our aim is to ensure users can access rich information on our region that will better inform how they make decisions to visit and what there is to do here.

Trade Show
I’m off to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to represent Tourism Northern Tasmania as part of the Talkabout Tasmania Roadshow organised by Tourism Tasmania.  Along with a ‘Tamar Triple Pass’ group and Hotel Grand Chancellor we’ll ensure our region is covered with lots of information for agents to ensure they book their clients into Launceston and disperse throughout the region.

Those of you that play in this space might be interested in an advertising opportunity in MICENET.  In October there will be a Tasmania feature, the opportunity exists for advertisers to increase the size of this feature, focusing on Northern Tasmania. MICNET are also offering discounted rates.

Taste of Tasmania

The Taste of Tasmania is looking to encourage greater involvement from Tasmanian regional groups and agencies to promote participation of food and beverage producers from across the state. The Taste of Tasmania attracts up to 300,000 people over one week from 28 Dec to 3 Jan taking place on Hobart’s waterfront during the holiday festive season.

Taste organisers will be seeking to meet with either groups of regional producers or single businesses interested becoming stallholders.

Wine Tasmania's Wine Routes Brochure is a high quality, popular touring publication is widely distributed, reaching more than 250,000 consumers via the print and online versions. 

The website has recently been upgraded and is now responsive, through mobile phones and tablets.
