FCL Regio pedagogical videos: How to adopt innovative pedagogical approaches involving mobile learning and cloud computing in the classroom

The Future Classroom Lab Regional network, with the help of innovative teachers/ICT advisers, nominated by all partners of the project, has recently developed future classroom scenarios and learning activities on the use of mobile devices and K-12 cloud services. The project partners have published three videos to inspire and encourage teachers across Europe. Discover how schools in Italy use apps and mobile devices to design a cultural tour in their towns; how to study the concept of stress in structures by producing digital objects (Catalonia); and the collaborative coding project between schools in Sweden. See the videos here.

Webinar series- Building a Future Classroom

European Schoolnet's Future Classroom Lab (FCL) has inspired many teachers, schools and organisations to create their own labs or learning spaces. The network of Future Classroom Labs is growing rapidly with 29 members up to this moment. All learning labs are different since they have been created to provide for local needs and adapted to the local context. That is why the Future Classroom Lab has organised a series of webinars - Building a Future Classroom - where FCLs in the network could present their experience. The webinar series demonstrates the spirit of sharing that exists in the network of Future Classroom Labs and their willingness to support other educators on their way to creating similar learning spaces. Experiencing the solar system with mixed reality – latest FCL blog

Mixed Reality (MR) is a technology, which makes the real and virtual worlds merge, to produce new environments and visualizations a user can interact with in real time. According to Jørund Høie Skaug (FCL Ambassador, Norway), it is already possible to make experiments with mixed reality in a classroom in order to explore how the technology can be used for learning, and envision how devices can be integrated in educational practices. The Norwegian Centre for ICT in Education has been lucky to borrow one Microsoft HoloLens set for a lesson in natural sciences with 7th graders at Åssiden school in Drammen.  Read further about this experience in the latest FCL blog

More than 30 teachers around Europe tested the new TASK online tool

European Schoolnet had invited interested teachers to test the new TASK online self-assessment tool until mid-March. With this tool, students can self-assess their key competences. More than 30 teachers accepted this invitation; about half also tested the tool with their students. Most teachers found the tool interesting and easy to use; but also gave critical feedback. On this basis, the TASK tool will be improved now. The final version will be available in July this year. Read more here.
