Amgen Teach Competition and STEM Discovery Week are here!

The 3rd year International Workshop in the Future Classroom Lab (FCL) for Amgen Teach teachers has been scheduled for the weekend of the 23-25 June 2017, and we would like to invite all the teachers involved in this year's trainings to participate in the competition in order to win a trip to Brussels and the FCL. The winners will be announced during STEM Discovery Week on our website!

Furthermore, especially for this month, on the occasion of STEM Discovery Week, Amgen Teach is launching a second session for the 10th Distance Learning Activity, plus two more training events during this last week of April, and is inviting life science teachers to participate in the "STEM Professionals Go Back To School" (PGB2S) scheme, the new STEM Careers MOOC and the competitions on Scientix portal!

Amgen Teach is launching its 10th Distance Learning Activity (DLA10) in Polish from 10th - 14th April 2017 with more than 500 teachers registered! This time the subject is "MoleCOOLar Kitchen" and it will focus on very unusual topics, ideas and procedures ready to use in our kitchens! The activity will also include a live webinar on 11th April 2017, 8:00 p.m. CET with expert Dominika Panek, and a second session during STEM Discovery Week, from 24 to 30 April 2017. Both sessions and webinars will be in Polish.

Ireland: National workshops to enhance the use of Inquiry-Based learning approach among teachers

Country in Focus Article #5:
To promote curiosity among science students in junior secondary level in Ireland, the Amgen Teach Coursework B suite of workshops aims to assist teachers in the effective use of inquiry based teaching strategies in their classroom. A related intended outcome is the increase of critical thinking among students in science subject areas.
