Techniques for FIT

  • Schedule time to sit. It's silly that we have to set a timer to be bored, but these days it's an advantage.
  • Why does the dog offer you his belly? He gives you total control, "I was bad. Do what you wish." Give in once in a while.
  • If you continue doing what isn't working, you can blame someone else. If you try something new, what happens next is your fault. (try it anyway)
  • Say this out loud, "Let it go." Good. What will you do now?

Being Human - Smarter in one hour

Smarter organizations get more done in shorter amounts of time.

How do they do it?

They make communication more effective by taking the time to define terms.

Like Einstein said, if I have an an hour to solve a problem, I want to spend 55 minutes defining it.

Random Stuff

Is that about me?

You may or may not know this, but I have a guy working on an audiobook for my novel, The Legend of Mad Gringo. Parts of it are cringeworthy but the vocal talent is making the most of what I gave him. As part of the process, I need to listen to the recording and offer my input. Just under 7 hours worth.

I'm listening to it on the laptop as I read the paper. It's been a year since I wrote it and the reader is killing it. He's hilarious. I kind of drift off into the story, loosely based on my life and my people. I sit imagining all the people that have read and enjoyed my little tale. Well, imagining my close friends and family that took the time to read it.

My wife walks in and starts making breakfast. After a few minutes, she looks up from her eggs and over at me. A look of concern on her face.

"Wait, is that guy talking about me?" she asks.

Ooh. Maybe everyone didn't get to read it.
