Presentations

Dennis Novy will give a keynote lecture at the Economic Geography and International Trade (EGIT) conference in Berlin on February 22nd/23rd. He will present his paper on "Trade and Uncertainty".

Mark Harrison will present his paper “Accounting for Secrets” to the War and Politics seminar of the École normale supérieure, rue d'Ulm, Paris on Tuesday February 26th.

Sascha O. Becker will present his paper “Do Entrepreneurs Matter?” with Hans K. Hvide, at the University of Edinburgh on Wednesday February 27th.

Nick Crafts will present his paper (co-authored with Terence C. Mills) on "Fiscal Policy in a Depressed Economy: Was There a 'Free Lunch' in 1930s' Britain?" to the economics department seminar at the University of Kent on Wednesday February 27th.
 

Appointments

Andrew Oswald has been appointed to the Advisory Panel of the Leverhulme Trust. The Panel's members give advice on which research grants and Leverhulme professorships should be funded.
 

Other News

Jennifer Smith, along with the other 4 members of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), published their 'Full review of the recommended shortage occupation lists for the UK and Scotland, a sunset clause and the creative occupations’ on Friday February 15th. 

Mike Waterson was interviewed on Tuesday February 19th on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire’s “Drivetime” show in connection with an announcement by the energy regulator concerning higher energy prices in future. Listen again here:
