Empire Seven Studios (E7S) will be having their "SIX YEARS Anniversary" opening this Friday, April 11 from 7-11pm. This exhibit will be showcasing over 40 artists, ranging in paintings, photography, installations and music. Artists such as legendary skateboarder Jason Adams to legendary graffiti writers Bigfoot will be a part of this amazing exhibit.
In addition to the opening reception, we'll be working with local artists to produce five new murals. Artists Abel Gonzalez, John Barrick, Jesico, Orly Locquiano and Sean Boyles will be painting between April 10-13, all within walking distance from each other. This is all in part for the E7S Mural project, which started back in Spring 2013. Communities have been recognizing the artistic potential through the process of art transforming the place where they live. We developed this program as an idea to somehow get artists involved with the community and create an awareness of an artistic presence publicly.
Founders Carlos Araujo & Jennifer Ahn established E7S, Art Gallery/Boutique located in San Jose's Japantown district, back in 2008 and since then has become a beacon to an underground art culture in the South Bay. Known for housing great talents and featuring art exhibition openings every 2nd Friday of the month. E7S has come a long way from its early beginnings as a project with friends. The consistent hard work over the years is a testament to the vigorous tasks and efforts played by each individual involved from the start.
We would like to give a big thanks to all of you who have been supportive in this ongoing experience. It's a place where good company and friendships are intertwined and the arts are forever appreciated. We look forward to many more years in working with past, present and future artist. We will continue to grow as was intended from the very beginning but staying rooted within our community.
