Competitive funding opportunity for up to $166,000 per recipient
National DPP Bright Spot Initiative to Increase Enrollment

State Health Departments are invited to submit their qualifications statements and capacity assessments, which will be used to determine the next round of the Bright Spot Initiative application process. The two-part selection process is competitive.

Submissions are due by Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

In collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) is seeking to fund and provide technical assistance and support to up to six State Health Departments (including the District of Columbia) with strong existing capacity and infrastructure.

About the Opportunity
The Bright Spot Initiative operationalizes the collective impact approach and actions for centering equity to advance National DPP efforts at the state and local level. The purpose of the Bright Spot Initiative is to dramatically increase enrollment in the National DPP lifestyle change program. Targeted partnerships that will commit to specific enrollment goals for general and priority populations, and track and share progress. Review the request for applications to learn more.

Benefits of Participation
Awardees will have access to the NACDD and CDC-supported learning lab, funding, and technical assistance to support a backbone organization (which may be the State Health Department or an external organization), implement a Bright Spot project, and achieve established enrollment goals for the National DPP lifestyle change program and the MDPP.

Awards will be announced by August 2022. Funding is from August 1, 2022, through July 31, 2023.
