Discerning God's Will Together: is it even possible?Representatives from 8 of our BC CRCs met on-line for a rich discussion about what it means to seek God's will for our communities. Is it even possible?? With the help of Ruth Haley Barton’s book Pursuing God’s Will Together, we noted both the difficulties and the possibilities for building leadership teams that have discernment as their DNA. A process for Biblical discernment was laid out: how to clarify questions in a God-ward way; how to gather the appropriate team, commit to a discernment posture, listen well, choose, and courageously enact the decision. This workshop is available as a portable, bringing discernment equipping to the place where it most belongs: in the local church.
