Scholarship Deadline Looms

Application Process Simplified

The Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation (EWVCF) manages 35 endowed scholarship funds that will award nearly $100,000 to students from Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan counties in 2015.

We offer dozens of scholarships ranging from a few hundred dollars to $5,000, and anyone interested in learning more can download a complete list of the scholarships, their criteria, and who is eligible to apply. Detailed information regarding all of the EWVCF scholarships can be found by downloading our Scholarship Criteria.  Students who are planning to apply should take the time to read the Scholarship Criteria carefully.

If you have questions, refer to our Scholarship FAQ download.

University, college, technical institute, community college, and other higher education-bound students can apply for Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation (EWVCF) scholarships through March 2, 2015. Interviews will be scheduled for early spring, and scholarships will be announced during the Community Foundation’s Annual Scholars and Donors Reception in May.

The community foundation has simplified the application process and you can download the fillable PDF Scholarship Application form here. The form is designed to be downloaded, saved to your computer, completed electronically or printed and filled in by hand, emailed, or snail-mailed along with the required attachments.

Returning students who are eligible to apply for a renewal scholarship can do so by downloading the Renewal Application here.

Scholarships offered by the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation have been established by a wonderfully diverse group of donors. Since 1995 people like George Hancock and George Karos have been making it possible for students to continue their studies.

Some of our scholarships are awarded to students attending a certain college or university. Shepherd,  WVU, and James Rumsey Technical Institute are three.

Others focus on a field of study. If you are planning on becoming a nurse, a vet, or a counselor, we might be able to help. We have scholarships for students seeking degrees in business, law, and education.

In addition to scholarships for college-bound students, we have a few opportunities for K-12 students and encourage you to review all of the information on the scholarship page of our web site.
