With the new year, we've made a few changes at the studio to better serve you and ensure we have the resources we need to move forward. Check out all the newness below!

 *New Pricing*

We've adjusted some of our Open Studio prices for 2020, including the cost of our multi-visit passes and family drop-in fee. We've also added a new unlimited youth membership for the summer months and a 3-month unlimited membership for adults. Check out the new pricing details here.

In addition, we've introduced a 20/20 Premium Supplies Punchcard. Cards can be purchased for $20, and are worth $20 to use higher end supplies that are hard to replace without the extra income. Charges are based on the replacement cost of single use items like canvases, and a fractional cost (25-50¢) for shared items like markers or paints. Below is an example of the card, which we will keep on file here at the studio:

 *New* Referral Program

Word-of-mouth is by far the best way to reach our people so we've developed a new referral program! For every five people you refer - we'll gift you a free visit. If enough people participate, we'll add a second drawing for a 25% discount on a creative lab or camp!

How do you participate? If you are a current customer, all we need to know is that you are IN. We'll start a card for you at the studio, and when your people mention you as who referred them we'll give you a punch. After 5 punches (for new customers only!), we'll send you an email about the free visit waiting for you at the studio. Doesn't get much easier than that!

 *New* Age Expansion

The addition of our all-age Open Studio hours a couple years ago was a bit of an experiment. Knowing how few multi-generational spaces exist these days, we've deemed it a success and want to open our doors more widely throughout the week. From now on, our afternoon hours (4-6:30pm) on Thursdays and Fridays to be inclusive of every age! Don't worry - we'll maintain our exclusive "Art After Dark" hours for teens and adults on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The same guidelines apply for all our all-age hours:
  • youth under age 10 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver over age 16
  • ages 10-17 can attend unaccompanied as long as we have a permission form on file

 *New* Studio Hosts

At the beginning of January our newest cohort of Apprentices started their positions at the studio. They've been learning the ropes with the help of JJ, Bisharo, and Wako and will be bringing a lot of new interests and ideas to the table. Meet our newest studio hosts:

Michelle: Michelle will be our anchor host, at the studio Wed-Sun to help you have the best experience possible. She comes to us with previous experience as the Art Club facilitator at a local teen center. She's a big fan of photography!

Celeste: Celeste is currently a junior at Roosevelt High School. She loves drawing and handlettering, and will be teaching us a thing or two about Instagram.

Jordan: Jordan says that drawing is his happy place and he is really into digital design. In addition to working at heARTS, he can also be found at Juxtaposition Arts on the Northside. Fun fact: recently, one of his pieces was put on display at Orchestra Hall!

Stop in soon to meet the new crew and offer well-wishes to our departing cohort. They've made their mark and will be missed.

 In The News!

In the February issue of the Longfellow Messenger, a neighborhood newspaper here in Minneapolis, our work at Roosevelt High School was featured on the front page! We are so happy to be able to celebrate the students who have helped make the idea a reality. If you get a copy, make sure to grab it off your stoop!
