Teen Night joins our collection of Open Studio hours this fall on Wednesdays from 6-8:30pm! In addition, we've restructured our after school hours to make room for more Creative Labs on this schedule through out the year.

Creative Labs are our registration-based opportunities for the whole community to learn from practicing artists. Although there is usually a minimum age, youth and adults are welcome to join us for these intergenerational learning experiences.

Coming Soon: Give to the Max Day

Give to the Max Day is just around the corner and we need your support! Over the past six years we have slowly, but steadily, increased our revenue and grown our programs to offer something for just about everyone. Despite this growth, we still have unmet costs that need attention - including the administrative support of our founder who continues to give 80% of her time to the organization in a pro bono capacity.

Individual donors have been a critical piece of our success. Your contributions help:

  • subsidize the costs of our studio - this magical place where people's faces literally light up when they walk in - so we can offer affordable experiences for everyone,
  • pay youth a meaningful stipend while they participate in our Creative Community Apprenticeship,
  • and expand our selection of art materials and mediums so we can offer more premium supplies and equipment.

The day to give is Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019. Busy that day? You can schedule your gift in advance by heading to our giving page after Nov. 1.

Want to get strategic about it?
Some friendly competition in the name of generosity is all good, right? Right. Here are a few options if you'd like to get more bang for your buck:

  • If heARTS is already on your giving list this year, consider pledging to our matching fund instead! We would like to raise $1000 in pledged matches that we can leverage on GTMD to entice new donors. There are loads of MN donors who look for opportunities to stretch their giving with matched contributions - and we'd love to get their support!
  • Start an individual or team fundraiser. You can set your own giving goal and encourage folks in your life to give. All you need to do is sign-in to GiveMN.org and select Courageous heARTS as the beneficiary of your fundraising efforts. Learn more here.
  • GiveMN has partnered with the Bush Foundation to create additional prizes throughout the day. Check out what's in store here.

 Volunteer opportunities!

We are on the hunt for a few volunteers this fall who can help out with the following opportunities:

  • Creative Lab Assistants: Help our artist-in-residence with prep, facilitation and clean-up during our fall session. Assistants will be asked to sign-up to help with at least 3 Creative Labs per season, must be able to attend all sessions in a series, and be present 30 minutes before and after the session to help out.
  • Pancake Breakfast: Check out the options and sign up here.
  • Cookie Makers: We are bringing back our Cookie Mix & Match sale in December. If holiday cookies are your jam, we'd love to get your contributions for this seasonal fundraiser. Sign up here to commit your contribution!
Additional volunteer opportunities are listed on our website. If you have volunteered with us in the past, please email Lindsay with your interest. If this is your first time volunteering, please complete the interest form on our website and we will be in touch with details.
