Many have held us up before the throne of grace this past week. We are walking through a trail of both joys and sorrows as our grief journey begins.
The void left behind by mom is great. We miss her deeply. As hard as it has been to face life without her, life does continue on. We have grappled with the big question of NOW WHAT??
Many have prayed with us as we have sought the face of God this week pleading for direction. To be honest, His Voice came clearly to both of us with the same EXTREMELY AMAZING plan that is truly so absolutely perfect we were literally brought to our knees with praise and relief!! When a totally out of the box idea just exploded open and all the doors start just opening as fast as dominos fall it was just the coolest God Thing to see unfold.
NOBODY can care for my daddy better than me. Nobody loves him more. ❤️ We decided we could not leave daddy in an assisted living facility. The void of such an amazing mom and wife needs to be filled with our family clinging together. I want daddies life he still enjoys to be loved and cared for as only his little girl can do.
SO God has given us a plan.... we will bring daddy home to PNG to live with us!!! God recently opened up a new visa category for elderly parent dependents. With the sale of the family house we can have access to funds to build a small suite adapted for his needs attached to our home where we are living in Png. Our amazing field team and Abwe are in agreement of this arrangement!! 😊. Our people there were begging for this and we know just the presence of a statesman in the faith will be more than a blessing and encouragement for our students training to serve the Lord at Gbbc.
But the best part of this plan is that our hearts can fully serve the Lord and honor our beloved dad all in the same location. Dad will be surrounded by family and social interaction and spiritual encouragement engaged in serving the Lord he loves as much as he is able until the Lord calls him home. He can be Investing ,not just spending ,the valuable time of his life in the ministry and with the people he and mama loved right along with us these many decades! Mama would be so happy with this plan. It was her greatest dream daddy will be able to honor her memory and life for her!
What a glorious answer to a decision we were dreading. The relief and excitement is hard for us to contain!!
Much needs to be done. Please pray:
-selling the house/ liquidating all the household belongings we are not bringing HOME to Png
-passport renewal/ visa for png for daddy
-having built a small living space for him to have a little space of his own when our crazy home gets overwhelming! He needs a place just for him that is easy access and safe for his physical limitations attached to our home.
-purchasing a golf cart for him to be able to get around with our rough png terrain. ( walking will not be an option for him there)
- continued open doors as we follow what we feel strongly is God’s leading.
I have always known my daddy to be a man of great faith and a true servant of God. For an 85 year old man to be willing to follow God to the other side of the world...what an example that gives us all. Pray for daddy’s strength and peace as we follow God by faith in this journey.
Another answer of many years of prayer for Gbbc and our clinic ministry may be in the works right now. A large estate is being settled and the appointed custodian of the trust is trying to use this amazing opportunity to bring financial blessing to our clinic and Gbbc ministries. Please join us in prayer. The funds are still able to be contested until April 7 and the lawyers over the trust need to agree that our ministries fit the criteria of the desires of the benefactor. Pray for wisdom and discernment for the ones responsible to disperse this money entrusted to their care, that God would be glorified in all that is done.
We have been given the date of March 26 for Bills first eye surgery with the other eye to follow in two weeks. Pray that there is. Cancellation so we get this done earlier. But we praise God that we can get this done. Bills eyes were so bad he no longer passed the vision requirements to drive in Ny State even WITH his glasses. Scary.
We have started the boys schooling again. So pray for God to help them learn and give us the time needed amidst everything to invest in our sweet boys!!
Pray for our sweet baby Jessy. We have been trying to contact his parents or some of our friends in Port Moresby to find out if he had surgery to correct his cleft palate or not. So far we have not gotten answers. I’m so glad God is holding him even we we are totally in the dark as to his situation.
God hears our prayers and answers in the most amazing ways. We are truly overwhelmed by His working in our lives and so graciously providing amazingly wonderful answers to our needs.
No restraint. No retreat. No regret. Fearless. Faithful.
Bill and Lori and the boys.
