Principal's Message

Dear EGRMS Families,

This Friday, March 1st, is the last day of the second trimester.  Report cards will be published next Friday, March 8, 2019.  All students will be provided a copy of their third trimester schedule in BRIDGES class this Thursday so they are prepared for any elective changes on Monday morning.  Schedules also can be accessed online through the Skyward Family Access portal.

6th Grade Third Trimester Elective
As part of our goal to include students’ individual and collective voice in our school planning, we embarked on 6th graders having input into one of their elective courses for the first time ever.  Sixth grade students took a 3rd trimester elective survey in late January.  In this survey, students ranked the potential elective options to fill the one opening initially left in their schedule.  Last Friday, we finished the work of analyzing and completing your child’s third trimester schedule.  Students and parents may access this schedule through Skyward Family Access now.  As this is a new procedure for 6th grade students, it is also important to share that requests for changes are limited and can only occur after students have attended the class for one period.  As such, students interested in an elective class change should line up outside the guidance office after school on Tuesday, March 5.  A detailed end-of-the-day announcement will also describe this process to all students.

Kids' Food Basket

Dear Parents,

This year, for our Martin Luther King Day, Jr. Day of Service, our students will be making Supper Packs to be distributed through Kids’ Food Basket, a local organization working to combat childhood hunger. Please find more information on Kids’ Food Basket here.  These Supper Packs will provide the children who are serviced through Kids’ Food Basket one meal for one day. We are planning a school-wide drive to collect the necessary ingredients for the Supper Packs, which will be assembled the week before spring break.

Our school-wide collection drive begins next Thursday, January 31.  All students will be collecting the following items in their BRIDGES classes. Our goal is 50 of each item, so that each Bridges class can assemble at least 50 Supper Packs. Please note items need to be individually pre-packaged.

Items Needed:
Pudding Cups
Fruit Strips
Pretzel or Cheez-It Bag (1.5 oz or smaller)
.28 oz Meat Sticks (two per Supper Pack)

Quart Size Bags
Thank you for your support!
