Principal's Message

Dear Wealthy Elementary Families,

Mrs. Den Dulk is almost done arranging our students’ artwork from MLK Day. This piece is a celebration of unity and variety. Every child made a square unique to him or her. We have combined them to create a beautiful masterpiece representative of our school as a whole. Thank you to our students and staff for participating in this project!

Congrats to our PTO sponsored Odyssey of the Mind Teams who recently competed against other schools in our region! All our teams did an outstanding job planning their long-term problems and performing in the spontaneous round. OM is a fantastic way for students to practice problem-solving skills in a creative and collaborative manner. I’m proud of all their efforts this season!

Musical, March Book Madness, and More!
We are entering a very busy time of the year for our school! This week is our school musical and next week voting begins for March Book Madness. To learn more about MBM, which is supported by the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation, please click here. With all the excitement, do not be surprised if students come home more tired than usual. They are working incredibly hard!

This Wednesday afternoon the cast and crew of Shrek, Jr. will perform their dress rehearsal for students and staff. Parents are invited to attend the Thursday or Friday evening performances and the Saturday matinee (times are listed below).

Thursday, February 28  at 7:00 PM

Friday, March 1 at 7:00 PM

Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 PM

With nearly half our students participating, this year’s musical is, once again, a whole school community event. The opportunity to be part of a production is a unique experience for our students, and I’m amazed how each child grows in his or her own way because of their involvement. Thank you to Mrs. Siegel for her leadership on this production. She had numerous volunteers assisting her along the way and I am confident that her care and dedication will be reflected in our students’ performances. Thank you to our PTO for continuing to support this amazing opportunity for our students.  I hope to see all of you at one of our upcoming shows!

Online Conference Scheduling
Please remember to sign up via Skyward Family Access for Parent/Teacher conferences which will be held on Thursday, March 21 and Tuesday, March 26.  Access to online scheduling will close this Thursday, February 28 at 5:00 p.m.
