Principal's Message
Dear Wealthy Elementary Families,
Thank you to everyone who attended our PTO Scholastic Book Fair kick-off yesterday! We enjoyed playing games and using the photo booth organized by our Student Leadership Team as well as the delicious popcorn from the PTO. The Book Fair will be open throughout the week including some after school hours on Monday and Tuesday and later evening hours on Wednesday. The Fair closes on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Every class will have an opportunity to visit the Fair during library times this week. Please check the Wealthy Elementary Calendar found here for specific hours and the book fair website here. Thank you to our PTO Executive Board for organizing this event as well as all our parents who helped with set-up, clean-up, and popping corn!

It is hard to believe that we are halfway through the month of March! Students and staff are enjoying celebrating Reading Month with a variety of activities including participating in March Book Madness and spirit days chosen by our Student Leadership Team. We have two remaining Spirit Days for this month:
-
Friday, March 17- Camp Out with a Good Book (bring a flashlight and wear pajamas)
-
Friday, March 24 - Reading Gives You a Bright Future (dress in bright colors)
Spring Conferences
Our second evening of conferences will be held this Tuesday, March 14. If you have any questions on the time of your conferences, please contact the classroom teacher or Mrs. Allchin at 616.235.7550 or dallchin@egrps.org with questions. We look forward to discussing your child(ren)’s growth thus far this school year!
Also, thank you to the PTO and families who signed up to bring in items for staff lunches on conference days this week and next. We have a few more spots available. Staff are thankful to be so well fed on these longer days!
State Assessments
The M-STEP state assessment for third through fifth grade students begins after Spring Break based on windows of time determined by the state. Our M-STEP testing schedule is found below. Please try to schedule appointments around these dates and times to prevent your child(ren) from missing class time to complete make-up test sessions.
Fence Closing
In order to support a student safety need, the stairwell on the lower elementary playground to Lake Drive will be temporarily closed. Thank you for your patience and support.
Wizard Walk
It’s hard to believe, but we’re already well into our planning and preparation for this year’s PTO Wizard Walk and Family Fun Night which will take place on Thursday, May 11. Please click here to learn more about being a sponsor. 100% of funds raised goes directly back to the school and students. More information will be coming to families shortly after Spring Break.
