Principal's Message

Dear Wealthy Elementary Families,

As of April 12, 2019, the East Grand Rapids Public Schools' 2018-2019 District and School Annual Education Reports (AERs) are available on the EGRPS website. You may view the Wealthy Elementary AER Cover Letter here and Combined Report here. The District AER Cover Letter here and Combined Report here. For those who desire paper copies of the AER Cover Letter and Combined Reports, these will be available to parents and members of the community at the Wealthy Elementary office.

First LEGO Code & Build Club
Third and fourth grade students have the opportunity every Friday during their lunch and recess to apply math and science concepts to research, design, build, and program robots. They use software to solve missions based on real-world problems. These activities promote teamwork skills as they work together to overcome obstacles...not to mention it is just plain fun!

Field Day
We are seeking parent volunteers for Field Day which will be held on Friday, May 17 (Rain Date of Friday, May 24). This is our final TEAM celebration of the year where we reward our students for their hard work and positive choices. Our goal this year, as a school, is to earn 20,000 TEAM Recognition Cards, and we are well on our way! To join us by volunteering, please click here. No athleticism is required! I hope that many of you will join us to support one of our favorite events of the school year.

Warm Regards,

Carlye Allen
Wealthy Elementary Principal

The May 7, 2019, election ballot will have an important item for your consideration, the renewal of the Non-Homestead Operating Millage. This millage is a portion of the per-pupil state foundation allowance and provides significant operational funding for the district. For important information about this ballot issue, please click here.

Honor a Teacher or Staff Member with a STAR Award!
Are you looking for the perfect gift to honor your classroom teacher or other staff member this year? Please consider giving them an East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation STAR Award. STAR stands for Staff, Teacher, Appreciation and Recognition. For a donation of $20 or more to the Foundation, you’ll receive a personalized STAR certificate to present to your honoree, and your “star” will be recognized by name in the Foundation’s annual report. Let your teacher, para-educator, or staff member know that he or she is a STAR! Nomination forms are available online.

The M-STEP testing sessions for 3rd - 5th grade can be found by clicking on the link below. Please be mindful in scheduling any appointments for your student(s) that involves time out of the classroom during the following M-STEP testing periods. This is important because time for make-up assessments is limited.  See Schedule of Testing Dates for each grade.
