Principal's Message

Dear Lakeside Elementary Families,

This week is the last week of March is Reading Month! Last Friday students enjoyed dressing up like their favorite book characters, as well as spending time reading during an all-school Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) time. Please enjoy the pictures below of students showing their reading spirit!

Lunch with the Principal
Last week I hosted a fun “Lunch with the Principal” event, which was an auction item from the ROAR fundraiser back this fall. Thank you to the Mitchell and Stoppels-Hughes families for giving me the wonderful opportunity of spending this one-on-one time with their students.

Change to Hot Lunch Ordering

Starting Monday, April 11, 2022, online lunch orders will no longer be required for students in grades K-8. Elementary classes have returned to the routine of taking morning lunch counts directly from students and middle school lunch operations are now able to adjust to varying daily demand without food supply issues. High School lunch orders must still occur online for the remainder of the year as these meals are produced at the middle school and delivered daily to the high school.  All meals remain free for the remainder of this school year.

As we prepare for a week off for Spring Break, I wish you and your families a wonderful time together.

Important Calendar Dates

  • April 1-8:  Spring Break; No school for students K-12

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Warm Regards,

Stephanie Thelen
Lakeside Elementary Principal

The M-STEP state assessment for third through fifth grade students begins after Spring Break based on windows of time determined by the state. Our M-STEP testing schedule is linked here. Please try to schedule appointments around these dates and times to prevent your child(ren) from missing class time to complete make-up test sessions.

What? You didn't have a chance to sign up yet? WE NEED YOU! Please stop and click
