Dear Wealthy Elementary Families,
What a beautiful sunny day we had! Last week, our playground went from an ice rink to a swimming pool and back again. I am thankful that warmer temps appear to be here to stay. Please continue to send your students with warm weather gear and boots as needed. Although the sun is out, it is still quite chilly, despite what some of our students may think! When you come for conferences this week or next, please stop by the Lost and Found on the first floor to claim any items that may have gone missing during the winter months.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for this coming Thursday and next Tuesday. Conferences are an important part of our partnership with parents, and we strive to have 100% of our students represented each fall and spring. Please know my door will be open, and you are always welcome to stop by the office.
Students have completed their winter MAP testing sessions in Reading and Math. This assessment allows us to look at individualized growth as well as nationally normed data. The M-STEP state assessment begins after Spring Break based on windows of time determined by the state. Our M-STEP testing schedule is listed below.
- Thursday, April 11: English Language Arts
- Thursday, April 18: Mathematics
- Tuesday, April 23: Social Studies
- Thursday, April 25: Science
- Tuesday, May 14: English Language Arts
- Tuesday, May 21: Mathematics
- Tuesday, May 7: English Language Arts
- Tuesday, May 14: Mathematics
Our students are well prepared for these assessments, and our goal is to foster a comfortable testing environment and schedule suitable to our students’ developmental needs. Please be mindful in scheduling any appointments for your student(s) by trying to avoid these times. This is important because time for make-up assessments is limited. Thank you, in advance, for your support.
