Principal's Message

Dear Wealthy Elementary Families,

Thank you to everyone who attended Parent/Teacher conferences last Thursday. This is a wonderful time to discuss your child’s progress and areas of growth with the classroom teacher. Conferences will continue tomorrow, as well. When you are here, please take a moment to stop by the Lost and Found in the main hallway on the first floor. There are many winter weather items as well as lunchboxes and water bottles hoping to be returned to their owners. Any items remaining will be donated over Spring Break.

Last week we highlighted the great work our students are doing by having a TEAM celebration in the gymnasium. Mrs. Frayer and Mrs. Doyle planned a game of Human Hungry Hippos as the staff’s way of saying, “thank you for being a friend." The students were thrilled!

Whether you are staying in town or traveling outside of our state, please enjoy your spring break with family and friends.  There will be no school this Friday, March 29 through Friday, April 5. School resumes again on Monday, April 8. I look forward to seeing you all then!

Warm Regards,

Carlye Allen

Three things to do over spring break:

  1. Enjoy your time with family and friends.
  2. Nominate one or more of the outstanding teachers in our district for an Excellence in Teaching Award or the James and Georgia Nicholas Award.

  3. Think about your three-year pledge to Now&Forever. More than 400 families have already pledged $5.47 million to help build the future of our schools. With $930,000 left to raise to meet our goal, we need a shared commitment from all of us to pledge what we can. There won’t be an EGRNOW! fundraising drive this year. Now&Forever is our chance to secure our schools’ tradition of excellence today and for generations to come. To join us in this sustainable, historic effort, visit the Now&Forever page on the Foundation’s website.

MAY 7 ELECTION INFORMATION
The May 7, 2019, election ballot will have an important item for your consideration, the renewal of the Non-Homestead Operating Millage. This millage is a portion of the per-pupil state foundation allowance and provides significant operational funding for the district. For important information about this ballot issue, please click

The M-STEP testing sessions for 3rd - 5th grade can be found by clicking on the link below. Please be mindful in scheduling any appointments for your student(s) that involves time out of the classroom during the following M-STEP testing periods. This is important because time for make-up assessments is limited.  See Schedule of Testing Dates for each grade.
