Mark your calendars for EdFest 2016!

Friday, October 14   6-10pm  Downtown Edmond Festival Marketplace
 
Edmond Mobile Meals biggest fundraising event of the year is just a few weeks away!  Our staff and Board Members are planning a fun evening of Bites, Brews & Bands for our community to help support our mission of feeding the homebound elderly and disabled!

Entry is Free!

"Souled Out" is our live band.

                                 

Food Trucks include:
Taste of Soul Eggrolls, Flying Pig BBQ, 2 Brothers Bistro, Piled High, Let's Do Greek, Mim's Bakery & the Saucee Sicilian.  The food trucks are all donating a portion of their sales to EMM!

We will have beer from local breweries:
       





Wine will also be available.  All for $5/each, of which 100% goes to EMM!! 

Our KidsZone continues to grow!  This year we will have 2 inflatables, facepainting by Silly Lily, Balloons, Games, Superheroes & Princesses. Entry to the Kidszone is $5 per child. 

                                  

Finally, we'll have some great items for our raffle. Purchase a chance to win rounds of golf from OakTree or River Oaks, Kendra Scott Jewelry, Yoga, a Soundbar, Gift Basket from UCO, event space at the Patriarch, and so much more!  Raffle tickets are $5/each or $20/for 5.  

And...more good stuff is in the works for that night! So watch for updates on Facebook.

How can you help make this the best event yet?
  • Like our Facebook Pages for EdFest & Edmond Mobile Meals. Share our posts and the event with your friends.
  • We need donations of: Bottled Water & Canned Soda!!
  • Ask a local business owner to become a sponsor! We need more sponsors to make this as big of a success as last year.
  • Put up a poster in places you frequent....restaurants, church, library, daycares, etc.  We will have them in the office in September, so please take some to share
  • Volunteer at the event. We'll need volunteers for the evening in many locations. (email cristi@edmondmobilemeals.org if you'd like to volunteer at EdFest)
  • Bring your friends & family to EdFest.

Every $5 spent at EdFest = 1 meal for someone in need!

 

COOKBOOKS!

By popular demand, we are selling the Edmond Mobile Meals cookbook that features volunteer recipes and recipes from our kitchen.

They will make a great holiday gift!

We are accepting orders now!  

The cost is $20 per book.

Edmond Mobile Meals will be closed on Monday, September 5 for Labor Day. Have a safe holiday!









 
....and now, a very BIG announcement!

Edmond Mobile Meals has been selected as the philanthropy recipient for UCO Homecoming 2016!

Dates: Saturday, October 29 - Saturday, November 5

There will be many events that week where we'll be looking for volunteers!  More to come....

Opportunities for Volunteering
  • Shopper - Volunteer shoppers pick up grocery items as needed for Toni. Typically once or twice a month.  
  • Apron Washer - These volunteers pick up the dirty aprons twice a month and take them home to wash, dry and fold.
  • Drivers - We have a few open routes on Thursdays and Fridays.  If you know someone who might be interested, have them give us a call!
  • EdFest - We need 50 or so volunteers to help in shifts at EdFest.  Please let Cristi know if you can work a shift or two!
Volunteers of the Month:

Dave Wright & Gordon Wynn


Dave and Gordon are lifelong friends who volunteer several times a week delivering meals as substitute drivers. They always bring a smiles and fun to the office and the clients the meet!  Thanks for all that you do!

Q: How long have you been volunteering at EMM?
A: About 2 months

Q: What initially interested you in EMM?
Dave: I saw a brochure telling about Edmond Mobile Meals.
Gordon: I enjoy helping my family and friends.

Q: What do you enjoy most about serving with our organization?
Dave: I enjoy giving back to God by serving others that need help.
Gordon: I enjoy visiting with the clients and the office staff.

Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?
Dave: Suntan lotion, photos of my family & bottled water
Gordon: I'd just bring a knife.  :O)

Q: Why do you think it's important to serve the community you live in?
Dave: Because so many people do not think there is such a need, especially here in Edmond, OK.
Gordon; Because Edmond is the best community anywhere. I love it.
