Dr. Erik Carter is kicking things off with his keynote titled A Future of Flourishing: Supporting Strong Transitions for Children and Youth with Autism, where he will discuss effective strategies for equipping students with the skills, supports, opportunities, and relationships that set them on a course to a good life during and after high school. Afterwards, we'll have 4 concurrent workshops for you to participate in. Introduction to ImPACT: Improving Parents as Communication Teachers Anna Dvortcsak, MS-CCC-SLP | Dvortcsak Speech and Language Services, Inc. Anna will provide an overview of Project ImPACT, which is recognized as one of the most effective coaching programs for parents of young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related social communication delays. Sensory Integration for Children with Autism: Evidence and Use Roseann Schaaf, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA | Thomas Jefferson University This session provides an overview of sensory features in autism and strategies for addressing them. Specifically, participants will learn about the Ayres Sensory Integration® approach, an evidence-based intervention for children with autism spectrum disorder. How the Practical Functional Assessment and Skill-Based Treatment of Severe Problem Behavior is Consistent with Trauma-Informed Care Anthony Cammilleri, Ph.D. | FTF Behavioral Consulting During this session, participants will learn about the core components of Trauma-Informed Care and twelve tactics for increasing the odds of a safe, dignified, and trauma-informed analysis of severe problem behavior.
