![]() This year we are raising the bar by having Dr. Erik Carter present our opening keynote address! Erik Carter will be presenting our opening keynote address for the 29th Annual Texas Autism Conference that will be held June 24th through June 26th, 2021! Dr. Carter will also be presenting a three-hour workshop on June 24th on the topic of transitioning from school to post school life for individuals with autism. This workshop will be relevant to educators, families, and individuals touched by autism. Erik Carter is a highly sought after speaker and TSLAT and TEA are excited to share his research and messages to the state of Texas!
Learn more about Dr. Erik Carter Erik Carter, Ph.D., is a Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Special Education at Vanderbilt University. His research and teaching focuses on evidence-based strategies for supporting inclusion and valued roles in school, work, community, and congregational settings for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Dr. Carter has published more than 200 articles and chapters—along with six books—in the areas of educational, transition, and community services for children and youth with disabilities. His research and service has been recognized with awards from the Council for Exceptional Children, the American Association for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, the Division on Career Development and Transition, the Division on Autism and Developmental Disabilities, and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities. About the Texas Autism Conference The conference will feature two keynote speakers, four 3-hour workshops, and 22 sessions on a variety of autism related topics. Day three of the conference, June 26th, is Family Day when all sessions are geared towards families and the community and is FREE that day. Registration is open now. Early bird price for all three days of $100 ends May 31st, so hurry and get your spot. Full registration price raises to $125 on June 1st.
