We are looking forward to meeting you at the “Value in the Classic Car Market†conference, at Dartmouth College October 6/7 2014.
If you have not done so PLEASE REGISTER via email to secure your place, this includes paying the registration fee, thank you. If you can not attend or intend to bring additional people please let us know, thank you.
At least six cars will be exhibited at the conference to illustrate both the diversity of the market and various value drivers. Some examples are:
- Mercedes-Benz 280 SL (W 113) and 300 SL (W 198)
- Toyota 2000 GT
- Pre-war Bugatti Grand Prix car
- Porsche 911 ‘barn find’
- Gulf Ford Mirage Le Mans race car
Car exhibit #2, the Gulf liveried Work 3 liter no.10 Ford Mirage Chassis #802. Different value drivers can influence car values at various times. One example to be discussed at the conference is this highly successful Ford Mirage. This car came third overall at Le Mans 24 hours endurance race in 1975, second overall in 1976 and second overall again in 1977. It is owned by Harley Cluxton III who will join us to introduce the car. Having said that, it will not be a 'sales pitch' for this model. Positive as well as negative aspects will be discussed. Other than value attributes Harley will be able to give us a technical and historic summary, while VCCM attendants are able to view the car.
The other exhibits will be introduced in our forthcoming weekly newsletters for the conference.
We are very pleased to announce Scott Sargent as a panelist to the conference! Scott is a native Vermonter who owns a 15,000 sq foot antique car restoration shop based in Bradford Vt where they document, fully restore or preserve and maintain these historical cars.
