USC students in 1977 buried an eclectic assortment of items for a time capsule that was unearthed in 2001 as part of the university's bicentennial celebration.

That same year, another time capsule was buried on the Horseshoe — with its own treasure trove of items — with an opening scheduled for 2051.

Flexible spending account deadline is March 31

The claim filing deadline for 2022 flexible spending account participants is March 31.

Medical Spending Account participants may submit valid claims for expenses incurred by Dec. 31, 2022, and can carry over up to $570 of unused funds into the 2023 plan year.
Dependent Care Spending Account participants may submit valid claims for expenses incurred on or before March 15, 2023, and will forfeit 2022 funds left in their account after the reimbursement deadline.

Researchers seek children for activity study

The Arnold School of Public Health is looking for children ages 9-12 to participate in a National Institutes of Health-sponsored study on how well activity trackers measure physical activity.

To participate, children will wear consumer wearable devices on their wrists while engaging in fun games and activities for about 90 minutes. Participants will receive Amazon gift cards for their time.

Outdoor Rec offers adventure trips

Want to backpack on the Appalachian Trial or learn to standup paddleboard on Columbia's Congaree River? USC's Outdoor Rec team has an adventure trip for you.

Trips are open to all USC students, faculty and staff.
All trips will only require beginner skill level, unless otherwise noted.
