Congratulations to our Graduates!

This has been a hard school year for the boys. They missed many days of school due to the unrest in Haiti, but we are proud to announce that they all passed their grades, some with very high grades and some by the skin of their teeth. You will be notified separately with their final grade.

Special congratulations are in order for our graduates who are moving from or into major grade levels! Thiago graduated from kindergarten and will be entering 1st grade. Duke graduated from sixth grade and Davidson Pierre Louis graduated from Philo, which is the last grade of high school (13th grade). We have not yet heard from Wilson or Laurent's schools about their Philo graduation since all three attend different schools. Government exams begin this Friday, July 1st. Davidson, Wilson, and Laurent will be taking their exams in order to obtain their high school diploma. Please keep these boys in your prayers as this is a four-day exam and is extremely difficult. Only one of our boys has ever passed the first time, Luckson. The rest of our boys have had to take the exams over.

Introducing Board Member - Emma Ryan
Emma is our vice president. Her first trip to Haiti was in the summer of 2015. Like most teenagers who don't have that personal relationship with Jesus, she got caught up with what the world was offering then. This mission's trip changed her life. She fell in love with the energy and joy that overwhelmed the walls of the orphanage. Emma graduated high school early and went back to Haiti for six weeks to teach English at three different schools. It was here that Emma's love for education began. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in elementary education in 2021. She is now an elementary school teacher in her hometown of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Meet Davidson Elessor (SonSon)
Davidson, better known for his nickname SonSon, came to the boy's home in July 2013 when he was nine years old from Canaan, an area which became a tent city after the earthquake. His mother was not able to keep him due to a serious family situation. A pastor asked if we could take him. Sonson is pretty quiet, but when he comes out of his shell he can be pretty funny. He has a tendency of being a bit lazy, but when asked to do something he always does it without complaining.  He has always done well in school. He will be entering the 11th grade in September. He turned 18 years old in April and will transfer to the Bridge Home this summer.

Haiti Update
Yvenise and Cazy, the directors of the Bridge Home, have been experiencing financial hardship since the birth of their most recent child, Jacque-Evans. In Haiti, the majority of woman who give birth have C-Sections if they can afford it. She had a C-Section with Youvica so she was required  to have another one with their second child. Love and Grace financially helped with the delivery of their first child. She has had to have further surgery to correct mistakes with her delivery. Youvica is under a doctor's care for a major infection and Jacque-Evans was born with his left foot not being straight, which is resulting in him not being able to walk yet. These medical emergencies have depleted their savings and we are not able to financially help with the latest medical bills. We had to take finances out of our emergency fund to pay the rent for the boy's home.  If you would like to send a special financial gift to the Cazy family, you may send a check designated to "The Cazy Family" and mail it to: Love and Grace Ministries - Haiti, 229 Blythe Island Drive, Bluffton, SC 29910. You may also reach out to Nancy at or by phone: 843-368-0870.

Needs for Upcoming Trip
A tentative trip is planned in July or early August if the situation in Haiti gets better.  If it is still not possible to travel due to gang violence and kidnappings, Yvenise and Youvica will travel to the states to get the necessary supplies needed for both homes.  If you would like to help with airline tickets🎫to bring them to the states, or help with these supplies, you can purchase them through Amazon Smile and have any packages shipped to Love and Grace Ministries - Haiti, 229 Blythe Island Drive, Bluffton, SC, 29910. If you would rather purchase these needs through a different means, please still send them to the address listed above.

Did You Know!

In 1804, General Jean Jacques Dessaline proclaimed the independent Black  Republic of Haiti after rebel slaves defeated French troops dispatched by Napoleon Bonaparte. Upon declaring its independence Haiti claimed a singular place in world history. The Haitian revolution, lasting from 1791-1804, culminated in the first independent nation in the Carribean, the second democracy in the Western hemisphere, and the first black republic in the world. What does this mean? For others, the creation of a "Black Republic" was a radical assertion of racial equality, an unprecedented opportunity for blacks in the Western hemisphere to demonstrate their ability to prosper as citizens and leaders of a modern nation.

Verse Of The Month!
Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD.
