I hope you have been watching and enjoying the Truth About Weightloss Series - there is a new episode daily and on the seventh day there is a recap of all episodes for you to catch up on any you may have missed. Episode 4 is particularly good and Dr Steven Gundry is a great communicator.

Dr. Gundry, cardiothoracic surgeon has done over 10,000 cardiac bypasses but now prefers to prevent coronary artery disease through nutrition and natural means. Find out what inflammatory foods you should be avoiding. What about peanut butter and goji berries? Find out.
It’s all about your gut.... you’re just a bystander. There are more than 30,000 gut species that are producing essential nutrients ( that you can’t make) so that you can function well. Feed the good ones their favourite meals and deter the ‘rogue’ ones that are steering you off course. I like taking 1 scoop of Bowel Restore and 1 tsp of Gut tonic everyday. You’ll see a difference fairly quickly. I’m not a fan of colonic irrigation as even the good bugs are eliminated. It’s a crude method. Nutrition treatment is a far more effective and successful way to improve gut function.
Lectins ( proline rich proteins) protect plants and maximise their survival rates. But they are highly inflammatory to humans. Cliff Hawkins, biochemist has spent decades researching lectins and found that highly concentrated extracts of the ginger family breakdown lectins. Use quarter tsp with each meal and add a little to high lectin food. I use some whenever I cook brown rice and stir fries. It also tenderises meat and ‘predigests’ it for you. Butyrates are short chain fatty acids that your colonocytes ( that line your colon) and friendly gut bacteria love. They also help to put you into ketosis.... more about that and fasting in my next newsletter.
