Perry-winkle Farm
I am sure that you will remember the trouble that Peter Rabbit caused Farmer McGregor, well, we are have rabbit problems ourselves... they are eating our (your) beans!! We have been wondering why our next planting of beans has been slow to mature, now we know that rabbits have been eating most of them. Bummer! We will do our best to bring another basket or two this week, hopefully some Italian flat beans and some more green beans too.
We do know that we will have arugula, lots of sweet peppers (bells and Anaheim style that are great for stuffing), several types of spicy peppers and more of our Terra Rosa potatoes. The main star of the flower department this week will be our Salvia leucantha (Mexican sage). We will be sure to bring more bunches this week, we felt bad that they sold out so quickly last week. There will also be a rack full of mixed bouquets, some bunches of sunflowers, a bucket of colorful zinnias and a bucket of glads. And there will be eggs from our pastured hens.
with gratitude,
Mike Perry and Cathy Jones
