Whew!

Turns out the hurricane was nothing to worry about -- thanks for a lovely market last week!  We're back at it tomorrow, with all the fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, meats, and other local products you need to stock up for the week.  No hurricanes in the forecast, as far as I know!  (Or... earthquakes?  Did you guys feel that, or was it just me?)  2020 sure is one for the record books.

The Barking Bedlie

Calling all kitties!  The Barking Bedlie has something new for you -- catnip!  I keep the dried leaves and flowers intact instead of grinding to a fine consistency, leaving the option up to you.  They crush very easily by hand if you prefer.

Catnip has a lot of benefits, so stop by and check it out!
 
Beechcrest Farm will be there, hope it won't be too hot!  We'll have steaks, brats, some short ribs, burgers, and plenty of ground beef.  Bacon, farm sausage, and stew meat will be there on the pork side.  We have a couple of picnics and a pork butt we can bring to market if ordered ahead, reach out if interested in a BBQ!  See you Tuesday.
 
Bold Bagels will be back this week!

Honey Bee Hills Farm will be back at market this week. We have an abundance of organic watermelons (seedless and seeded), sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, okra, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, garlic, and more. Off Grid in Color is your local Meat Boutique offering quality meat that is sustainably raised with love, mother earth, and you in mind.

We offer an array of pasture-raised chicken and forest-raised pork. All animals are raised outdoors (eating all the grass, bugs, and grubs they can find) and given non-GMO feed. 
 
Chicken is back in stock! We have whole chickens, drumsticks, thighs, bone-in breast, boneless skinless breast, hearts and livers! No pork till mid-September. Pre-orders are strongly recommended and due by Monday at 9pm using this link.

It's never too early to reserve your holiday turkey. We've already pre-sold over 100 turkeys! We are at our second tier early bird price for unfrozen turkeys, now through September 1st, at $7.50/lb! Only 13 left. We also have a frozen turkey option for $7/lb. RSVP early, save, and donate. Check out this link for more details.
 
Perry-winkle Farm
 
We planted 10 different varieties of potatoes this year and experienced very abundant yields.  The customer interest has been phenomenal and we are now down to only 4 varieties.  Thankfully they are some of our favorites!  We still have three gold flesh potatoes: Huckleberry Gold, German Butterball, and Bintje, along with our red-skinned, pink flesh Terra Rosa. In this "Covid-19 Era" we will be doing the bagging for you, but we want you to be able to pick exactly which potatoes you want and to be able to continue "Mixing n' Matching" from the varieties we have. 
 
We also plan to have a cooler full of arugula and another one full of basil.  There will be lots of mixed bouquets on the flower rack and a bucket of colorful zinnias. There will also be some eggs from our pastured hens.

Red Roots Farm will be at market this week with Yukon Gold potatoes, Shishito frying peppers, lunchbox peppers, okra, CBD products, and more.

For pastries we will have: Sourdough Pretzels, Fancy Pretzels, Classic Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, Sugar Twists, Apple Pull Apart, Crackers (Za’atar, Classic, Rosemary, Onion Cheddar, Black Pepper Parmesan, Everything, Herb Garden, Roadhouse) and Scones (Ginger Blueberry, Dark Chocolate Raspberry, Lavender Lemon Curd).

Hello Fearrington shoppers!
 
I will indeed be at the market this Tuesday. Please check the website to see what's available this week. When you place your order, make sure you place it for Tuesday, or I may not see it. If there is something you'd like but it shows up as "unavailable for your location," it usually means that I will have no time to make it before Tuesday.  You can always call to double-check at 919-960-2930.
 
You can pre-order here, but be sure to stop by my booth as I may have a few extra special items in too small a number to put on the site.

Turtle Rock Gardens will be at market with beautiful market bouquets (including dahlias!) and single variety bunches.  We will also have basil, mint, and tusli.  For the first time this week we will have dried flower wreaths! These are not holiday wreaths but intended as natural year-round decor.  See you Tuesday!
 
Twelve Oaks Farm will be there with salsa, pickles, and pickled peppers.
