Presentation of St. Mary to the Temple
The early life of St. Mary has not been given in the Gospels, but according to tradition, we know that Mary was a child of barren parents, Joachem and Ann, and was granted to them in answer to their vow. She was presented to the Temple and under the guidance of the dedicated widows and virgins she grew up in piety and served in the Temple. The commemoration of this presentation and dedication we observe on November 21, regardless of the day on which it may fall.
