Examples of what to say:
I'm a patient advocate with Herpes Cure Advocacy. We need new HSV testing that works (FDA approved tests are only 50% accurate.) We need better and more effective treatments, a vaccine and cure. 40% of new HIV cases are attributed to HSV-2. HSV is not benign and is a neurological condition that is associated with cognitive decline. HSV also, like many health disparities, disproportionately impacts women and minorities.

ASK: Ask Dr. Erbelding to prioritize HSV treatment, cure and diagnostic research in the NIAID research portfolio urgently.
