Christmas Newsletter 2021

Welcome to our final newsletter of the year – the Christmas Special! In this edition, we want to share all the latest things we’ve been working on to help encourage giving in our churches, as we experience Advent and Christmas this year. You can find everything you need on our new Resources for a Generous Christmas 2021 page. In the meantime, here is an overview of what’s available.

1. Posters and pew cards

As we welcome people into our churches this Christmas, it’s important we make giving accessible to those who want to give. QR codes offer a contactless and quick way for people with smartphones to give to your church. The Church Print Hub has created a range of posters and pew cards, using the theme of ‘At The Heart of Christmas.’These can be customised with a QR code for your online giving page. If you don’t have a QR code yet for online giving, visit our Getting started with GiveALittle page and follow the steps to get set up.

2. GiveALittle Christmas campaign

If your church is already using a device for contactless giving via the GiveALittle app, you can set up a Christmas campaign which also uses the ‘At The Heart of Christmas’ theme. Take a look at this short film to see how to do this.

3. Text raffles

If your church is organising a Christmas raffle this year, why not consider allowing participants to enter by text. Offering this option is a great way to reach those who may not be physically in church. Text raffles are set to run over a period of time which can also mean a longer window of opportunity for raising money. Give us a call or visit our new Text Giving page to find out more.

4. Generous Christmas advent calendar

Generous Advent Newcastle - interactive advent calendar

Spread some festive cheer by sharing our interactive advent calendar with daily reflections and prayers on themes of generosity and gratitude. The calendar will be live from 1st December.

5. Customise a Christmas giving animation

Using the video generator on A Church Near You (ACNY) Resource Hub, you can customise an animated video that encourages people to give to your church this Christmas. You can also share this video on your social media channels and during services to help promote online giving to your parish.

6. Give Back Friday Week

Our partners at easyfundraising are turning Black Friday Week into Give Back Friday Week so everyone’s increased online spending can mean more for your church this year. Christmas is the best time of year to collect free funding so it makes sense to register your church if you haven’t already. eBay’s Christmas Spend Report estimates that 57% of consumers expect to do most or all of their Christmas shopping online this year! Once registered you can access the Christmas Fundraising Toolkit to help encourage your supporters. To register your church with easyfundraising click here.

7. Generous Christmas checklist

Finally, if you need any further ideas and inspiration about how to have a Generous Christmas, don’t forget to download our festive checklist!

We wish you and yours a blessed and peaceful advent, and a wonderful Christmas time. Hope to seeing you in the new year.

Merry Christmas!
