We were also very honoured to welcome back old music girl, Olivia Stanton, who is currently studying percussion at UCT.

Marimba Festival

On Friday 21 April our Junior and Senior Marimba bands participated in the Baxter Marimba Festival. The last item on the programme was a massed item consisting of no less than 50 marimbas.

On Sunday the 22nd of April 2018, Interact helped paint a wall at TEARS. TEARS is The Emma Animal Rescue Society. Interact has wanted to get more involved with helping animals for a while and thought this was a great way of doing that. Ms Colly is a big supporter of TEARS and thought Interact could paint a wall mural for them. They will be going back soon to finish painting the wall and would welcome anybody who is willing to help. In the June holidays, ten Grade 11 and 12 girls will be travelling to the Transkei to be part of the Isolomzi Residential Project.  It runs for ten days and the girls go to Isolomzi High School to help teach the matric pupils Maths and other subjects.  They are desperately short of many items for school, and we are collecting pens, pencils, roll-on deodorant and face cloths, as well as blankets and duvets for their hostel.

Please support them by bringing these donations to Miss Colly’s classroom (N12).
