  • Activity schedule for next week:
    • Monday 10 June (Day 0) - Riff-off, Inter-house Netball and Hockey and Careers Expo.
    • Tuesday 11 June (Day 7)
    • Wednesday 12 June (Day 9)
    • Thursday 13 June (Day 10) - Inter-house Cross Country and Open Mic (see poster below)
    • Friday 14 June is the final day of term - All form classes will be involved in Mandela Day activities. School will close for the June holidays at 11:00.
  • Thursday 13 June: Grade 9 compulsory Subject Choice Evening for Grade 9s and their parents/guardians in the Kemp Hall. The evening will be one and a half hours in length. Tea and coffee will be served from 5:15pm.
  • Form Class photos are available to order online from Cape Foto here  When registering, please use the unique code RGHS2019.
  • The Busty Bugs' annual BRA DRIVE has been extended to the end of term. Girls can drop off their lightly used bras and new underwear in the boxes in each classroom. See poster below.


Sports News and Results 6 June 2019

  • There will be no extra-mural sport in the last week of term (10-14 June)
  • Inter-House Netball and Hockey will take place on Monday 10 June during school hours.
  • Inter-House Cross Country will take place on Thursday 13 June during school hours. This event is compulsory for all learners. Your daughter will be expected to run or walk a 1.5km or 3km route for which she will score a point/s for her house. All girls have the opportunity to come and run the route on Monday 10 June starting at 15:15 if they wish to prepare themselves for Thursday.
  • Water Polo Tour to Serbia and Montenegro: We wish Ms Goble and the following girls all the very best as they depart for Montenegro on Tuesday 11 June: Erin Daffarn; Sofia Gray, Anna Gray, Jaime Kelly, Hannah Lavery, Pebbles McGuinness, Hayley Probyn, Rose Williamson and Alexandra Arendse.  We wish you all a safe and enjoyable experience.

Muslim Students' Association Iftaar

The MSA Iftaar took place on 10 May in the Kemp Hall. It was a great opportunity for the Muslim community from various schools in the area to celebrate this blessed month of Ramadaan. 
One of the highlights of the evening was being entertained by the Nasheed group pictured to the right.

Thanks and congratulations to the Grade 11 members of the MSA Committee for a well organised event.

High School Tech Leaders Camp

CODESPACE together with UCT is hosting a High School Tech Leaders Camp at UCT in the July school holidays. (Click for the poster)
If you would like to learn how to code or program a robot or show off your musical talent by creating a tune with coding, this Tech Leaders camp is for you!

Date: 1 to 6 July
Venue: Leslie Commerce Building, UCT
Cost: R2500 or you can apply for a scholarship.

If you would like to apply for a scholarship, you need to attend a one-hour session at UCT this Saturday 8 June. Speak to Mrs Myers in the computer centre for more details.

LO Matters

  • Career Expo in the Kemp Hall on 10 June 12:30 to 14:30. Over 60 institutions will be represented. All Grades are welcome to attend.
  • SACS IT CENTRE applications for Grade 10 part time IT students wishing to apply for 2020 is now open. Students wishing to apply or want to find more information regarding the subject can visit  Students can find the online application form on our website. More info here.
  • The Rondebosch Boys' Pride Society is hosting a Movie Night on Tuesday 11 June. See the poster for more info.
  • Skintflix presents a short film-making course this holiday (24-28 June). The presenter,  Emma van der Vliet, will be talking about it at Rustenburg on Tuesday 11 June at second break in Ms Chambers's class. Download the poster. 
  • EduConnect Youth Month Writing Competition: In light of Youth Month, we want you to have your say on how you think education can create change in South Africa.  If this topic inspires you, share your insight and enter our competition
  • Flying into your Fabulous Future: For young adults ages 17 - 21 (5-8 July 2019) by Roots and Wings Coaching
    Stressed out? Where to from here? Fear of failure and disappointing others? This is an intensive executive coaching process that focusses on moving teens and young adults out of confusion and into an inspirational future. Click here for poster.
  • The City University of Hong Kong offers South African matriculants scholarships to study a variety of degrees including Veterinary Medicine, Environmental Science, Criminology, Media, Law and Business. See LO boards or Ms Norval for more information.
  • Matric learners interested in applying for bursaries can keep an eye on Bursaries SA for closing dates and more information.



“12 Angry Jurors” will be staged in the Memorial Hall at Rondebosch Boys' High School from 31 July - 3 August 2019.
