I’m sure those involved in the Champions' Cup weekend would agree that is was a great event for the school. Thanks to Ms Scott and Ms Blayi who ensured that the event ran smoothly and professionally. This is the largest U16 tournament in South Africa and we are proud to host it in collaboration with TAG.

Congratulations to staff, parents and learners who participated in the Two Oceans event. Ms Fourie completed her 18th race and Ms Scott achieved 5th place in her age group.

Over the past few weeks we have noticed a strange number of injured or dead squirrels. We have done a thorough check and cannot find any reason for this, so if any parent has some insight, please contact us.

You will shortly receive a letter regarding the procedures for drop-off at the school. It is to ensure the safety of all our learners.

This coming Monday (29 April) is the second attempt at our by-election to elect two SGB members, as we failed to achieve a quorum last week.  Please come along and cast your vote as they are parent representatives who play a leading role in the vision of the school.

As your daughters prepare for their examinations this term, please be supportive of them and find ways to help them manage the anxiety they may experience during exam time. Steady preparation and focus in lessons play vital roles in relieving last minute nerves. Well-planned study programmes that incorporate proper breaks, as well as the reduction of phone use, can also help reduce apprehension. I encourage the girls to avoid comparing how much work they and their friends have done, as each person works at their own pace and need to concentrate on different portions of work.

Notices

  • SGB BY-ELECTION REMINDER: The election will be held on Monday, 29 April in the Thomson Hall at 18:00. Please arrive from 17:30 to register with your photo ID. We urge parents to make every effort to attend this important meeting.
  • All pupils must, if possible, be in their full winter uniform tomorrow (Friday 26 April) for a film shoot by KykNet at the end of the day.
  • Winter Uniform Changeover: There have been unforeseen delays in the delivery of stock of winter uniform shirts to the Bugs Boutique which has resulted in shortages of certain sizes. As a result, learners may continue to wear either complete summer uniform or complete winter uniform until the situation is resolved – no combination of summer and winter uniform items is allowed.
