Dear Rustenburg Families

As we near the end of five days of national mourning to remember the victims of COVID-19 and gender-based violence and femicide, let us continue to be aware of those in our community who have lost loved ones due to the pandemic.  We need to be supportive of any we know who have been victims of gender-based violence; offer our help where possible, and report any incidents of which we become aware. It takes a nation standing together to make a difference.

A very big thank you to those who have pledged their support for the COVID Relief Fund established by the School Governing Body.  Please take up this opportunity to assist those families in our community who are in need due to the unfortunate year we have had.  So far R78500 has been raised and this is enough to cover fees for three learners for six months, and I’m sure the supported families will be very grateful.  There are still many more needing assistance so please make use of the tax-deductible opportunity. To commit your support, please visit the link below to confirm the amount you are able and willing to contribute:

There will be an email going out to all families tomorrow that clearly explains the end-of-year programme.  I’m sure, like me, you are approaching the end of the year with very mixed feelings as so much has not been able to happen, so much still needs to happen and every one of us is tired of being cut off from one another by being behind masks.

We were sad to hear of the passing of Bill Brown, who has taken our school photographs for many years.  Our thoughts are with his wife and family.

RGHS COVID-19 Relief Fund (CSF)

You are reminded of the letter that was send out last week regarding the establishment of an RGHS COVID-19 Support Fund (CSF) to assist families affected by the pandemic.  Our target is to raise enough funding to pay for the school fees for such affected families for a period of six months to enable them to get back on their feet. To commit your support for the CSF, please visit the link below to confirm the amount you are able and willing to contribute: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CovidSupportFund

Thank you to those families who have donated so far for their generosity and hope that many others who have been fortunate enough to be spared the full brunt of the economic downturn will consider joining them.

All donations to the school are tax deductible and a Section 18A Certificate will be issued to all donors.
