Dear RGHS Parents and Learners

Welcome back to school. The second term heralds the start of winter and all sorts of family times like Easter, Pesach, Ramadaan and Mothers’ Day. The Sport calendar changes and we are gearing up for the Champions’ Cup and the National All Girls’ Festival in Paarl. We also start to prepare for the mid-year examinations which start on 13 May.

Please remember the SGB by-election to elect two parent members onto Rustenburg’s Governing Body. This will take place on Wednesday 17 April 2019 in the Thomson Hall at 18:00. It will be decided at 17:45 whether a quorum is present. Nomination forms are available from our Reception weekdays between 08:00 and 16:00.

There will be Parent-Teacher Interviews for parents of learners in Grades 9 - 12 today (4 April) from 17:30 to 20:00 and on Monday 8 April for parents of learners in Grade 8. Your daughter should make an appointment per the schedule available in each teacher’s classroom. Appointments are five minutes long and take place in the Kemp Hall.

Please attend the Champions’ Cup Netball and Hockey Tournament which takes place at Rustenburg from next Friday 12 April at 12:00 until Sunday 14 April. It promises to be an exciting weekend of sport and the girls who participate would appreciate a large presence of Rustenburg supporters. This is probably the largest U16 tournament in South Africa and we would welcome assistance form parents and learners to operate the tuck-shop and help pack and distribute meals. Please contact Ms Scott ( or Ms Blayi ( to sign yourself or your family up for an hour or two on the weekend. We look forward to your support as we hope to be able to use the funds raised on this weekend towards the cost of resurfacing our school pool.

Looking at the term ahead, one is struck by the number of school days missed due to elections and public holidays. It means that your daughter needs to work smart, prepare effectively and STAY CALM in the build-up to exams. Please stress the importance of attending school regularly. We encourage you to liaise with the staff if there is anything that is of concern or that they need to be aware of in terms of her well-being.

Champion's Cup 2019

From 12 noon on Friday 12 April the Rustenburg campus will be a super-busy place. Rustenburg is hosting the 5th edition of the CHAMPIONS CUP U16 HOCKEY & NETBALL TOURNAMENT from 12-14 April.

There are 18 Hockey teams and 18 Netball teams from around the country who are coming to take part in this prestigious event. Rustenburg has three of our own teams entered into the event: the U16A Netball Team; the U16A Hockey Team and a Rustenburg Colts Hockey Team.
