General Notices

  • Interhouse Gala (Friday, 2 February): Girls may arrive at school in their RGHS Sports kit/Gala outfits and do not need to change into school uniform afterwards.
  • FROM THE BURSAR: When making payments to the school, please reference with your child’s initial & surname & purpose (eg lunch/music/fees/Bugs etc).
  • Order envelopes for the Portrait Photographs taken at the start of the year will be handed out to your daughter on Monday. If you wish to place an order, the sealed envelope with your money contained inside needs to be returned to the Marketing Office by Friday, 9 February. 
  • REMINDER: Traffic on the Rustenburg Campus
    Grade 8 & 9 students must be dropped off and collected at the back of the school, near the tennis courts. Grade 10-12 students must be dropped off and collected at the front of the school. This will assist in the smooth flow of traffic around campus. 
    Please be aware that the pedestrian gate to Grosvenor Road and the sub-way under Liesbeek Parkway are both open from 7:10 - 7:50 in the morning and for 30 minutes at the end of the school day to allow for off-site drop-off and collection of your daughter. 
  • Parent Volunteers:
    At the beginning of every year we ask for assistance with the various activities at school. As parents, we have to work as a team and volunteer our services wherever we can to keep the school running as we expect.

  • TUCKSHOP VOLUNTEERS: The Tuckshop needs help on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday second shift which is from 12.45 – 13.45. Please contact Malane on

Grade 9 pupil, Zara Nijzink-Laurie (centre) is currently representing South Africa at the International Science Fair in Taiwan.

Sports News and Results 1 February 2018

  • The 2018 Term 1 sports programme is available here. (There have been some changes to the Touch Rugby days so please do take a look).
  • We are pleased to point out that we have added a Social Touch Rugby session on a Wednesday.
  • The Social Water Polo on Wednesdays will take place from 15:45 - 16:45.
  • Due to the water crisis in the Cape Town area, both the PGSGU and A-league swimming galas have been cancelled.
  • Due to the water crisis in the Cape Town area all Cricket matches have been suspended.

Congratulations to Avantika Naidoo (Grade 11) who received the UBUNTU AWARD at this year's Founders' Day Ceremony.

Avantika was awarded the 2017 Community Chest Women in Leadership Award for her work in providing sanitary towels to young school-going women all over South Africa. 

2018 Habitat for Humanity Cyclathon

A BIG thank you to all parents and girls who supported the Cyclathon at the Waterfront this year! RGHS, together with some of our neighboring schools, managed to raise R55 000 towards this cause.
MENTOR - MENTEE DAY (hosted by the RCL): The Grade 8s met their Grade 12 Mentors this past week.  The RCL held a little ice breaker quizz and the mentors brought cards and chocolates for their grade 8s.
