Hello LHIC members!

Join County Executive Allan Kittleman and your fellow LHIC organizations in supporting the Get Active Howard County 10-week initiative to track over 1,000,000 minutes of physical activity.

Beginning Monday, March 23, workplaces, community groups and individuals throughout Howard County will join or register teams and track their physical activity minutes on Get Active Howard County’s on-line portal. We challenge all LHIC member organizations to create a team and show your support for this initiative. It’s FREE and it’s FUN! Help us make a healthier and stronger Howard County! Click

You are also invited to the Get Active Howard County community kick-off event this coming Saturday, March 21, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., at Centennial Park, Corporate Pavilion H. County Executive Kittleman will be there to help get the program started! Click

FREE Boot Camp in the Park 
Corporate Pavilion at Centennial Park 
All Fitness Levels
Every Saturday from 8am - 9am
Begins Saturday, March 21

Over 1,200 individuals have participated in the FREE "Boot Camp in the Park".  This is the perfect physical activity for all ages and fitness levels.  In many cases, individuals just need a little motivation and encouragement to get started.  You can join us every Saturday morning through mid-November.  Come on out on Saturday mornings and join in the fun!  Tell your friends, family members and co-workers.
Directions from Points East: from Rt. 29, take Rt. 108 West; cross over first light at Columbia Road, right turn onto Woodland Rd., immediate left to pavilion. Follow Get Active Howard County signs. From Centennial Lane and points West:  Pass first park entrance; U-turn at Columbia Road, first right on Woodland Road, immediate left to pavilion H.

Cycle2Health Howard County is a non-competitive, peer-led, bicycling club for adults of all ages and riding abilities, coordinated by the Health & Wellness Division of the Howard County Office on Aging. Rides take place on weekdays during daytime hours and depart from various Howard County locations.  Rides depart in the morning, with the exact departure time varying by route and season. Save the date for the Cycle2Health Kickoff festivities on Thursday, May 14, at 10 a.m., in the East Columbia 50+ Center parking lot. Click here for more information and to register.
