31 Days of SSAR
"The next missing person could be you or a loved one. . . "
May 1 is the start date of our crowdfunding campaign. We have an ambitious goal! $31,000 in 31 days.
Show your support by donating to Saskatoon Search and Rescue during the 31 Days of SSAR campaign at www.raiseathon.ca/SSAR. Funds raised will complete our Emergency Communications Project and fund additional training, equipment and uniform needs.
Help your favourite SSAR member win one of the three "top fundraiser" prizes by contributing to their fundraising goal.
From May 1 - 31 join us daily on Facebook and Twitter as we share video and info about activities and events our members are involved in, along with other SAR-related information.
Gear Swap/Consignment and Garage Sale
Come & check out all the great deals at our Gear Swap and Garage Sale in Montgomery Park on Saturday, May 2, from 8 am - 4 pm. Our Facebook events page features just a few of the items that will be for sale. The first 20 people to donate $20 or more to help us complete our Emergency Communications Project will receive a free "essentials" kit. And there will be baking for sale too! Yum, yum!
Barbecue and PSAR Display
Join us at Cabela's on Sunday, May 3 from 11 am - 2 pm. Support our fundraising efforts by purchasing a burger and drink. SaskEnergy will be bringing their barbecue, cooking up the goodness and making a donation towards the barbecue expenses. Thank you!
Bring the whole family and take in the AdventureSmart presentations and pick up outdoor safety and emergency preparedness information at our display.
11 am - Hug-a-Tree and Survive (for children 12 & under)
12 pm - Survive Outside (for teens & adults)

What's Happening
At SSAR
Because of the incredible support we have already received from local businesses and organizations, we have purchased and installed some of the equipment for our Emergency Communications Project. On Saturday, April 18, we were able to test and evaluate most of the equipment. It worked great! Thanks to Jeff Baxter for leading us through the testing.
Thanks to Rebecca Basset and Dale Johnstone who led the classroom training session on April 16.
Several members attended a "Severe Weather Presentation" put on by staff from Environment Canada and hosted by Saskatoon Emergency Measures Organization. It was very interesting, informative and presenters John & Terri kept us entertained with their humour!
