The Changing Church Webinar Series

Week 4 in series, "If we build it they might not come."

Join Us Thursday, July 8th, 2021

Time:              Thursday, July 8th,  11am EST/10 CST
Zoom Link:

1.  Chris Dela Cruz is the Associate Pastor of Youth, Young Adults & Community Engagement at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Portland, OR.  He was called to Westminster in September 2020 as Associate Pastor of Youth, Young Adults, and Community Engagement. Prior to moving west, he served as Associate Pastor at First Jamaica Presbyterian in New York City. His background includes newspaper journalism and work as a campus ministry leader, a director of youth and family ministries, an associate pastor of family ministry, and a community organizer. Chris has a spouse, Amanda, and two children, Amelia and Jasper. When not trying to control his nature-loving children from climbing every tree on the trails, you can catch Chris listening to R.E.M. and Kendrick Lamar, eating out at every last foodie restaurant in Portland, and defending Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi from all the haters.

2. Pastors Vernon and Ashley Gordon have an inimitable heart for God, people, and the community at large. As leaders, they have become known not only for their passion towards the Cause of Christ, but their commitment towards seeing the local Church embody all that God has called for it to be.  Together, they planted The Life Church in July 2015 along with 40 volunteers; and with that commitment engraved on their hearts, set out on a journey to impact the culture and their city through the power of the Gospel.

Learn more about STEP training

S.T.E.P.™ (Strategic Transition Education Program), the next generation in interim ministry, training is based on the principles developed by Russell Crabtree in Transition Apparitions: Why Much of What We Know about Pastoral Transitions Is Wrong. Crabtree uses an evidence-based approach that shows a one-size-fits-all approach ignores the uniqueness of each congregation.
