New strike action at flower giant FloraHolland

Last week we informed you of a strike by the two unions representing workers at the giant Netherlands flower auction FloraHolland, CNV Dienstenbond and FNV Bondgenoten. Many of you responded with messages to the company. The February 6 warning strike failed to bring progress, leaving the unions no choice but to launch an indefinite strike on the evening of February 9. If you were unable to respond to our earlier appeal, please take a moment now to support the workers and SEND A MESSAGE TO FLORAHOLLAND.

Workers at the company have been fighting in vain since last year for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement and a social plan that addresses the needs of hundreds of workers who are losing their jobs and others who will be transferred to new locations in a major restructuring.

Negotiations on both contentious issues have reached deadlock. The earlier warning strike failed to change the company's stance. The unions are out on indefinite strike and have requested support - SEND A MESSAGE to FloraHolland supporting their demands.
