Writing Updates

Hey <<Name>>,

That's right. This is Tea, But With Coffee's first official newsletter. I'm so glad you're here to experience it with me. I'm so excited to announce the launch of my new website, https://teabutwithcoffee.com/. This website is something I have been working on for a few months now. I wanted to have a place to house all of my works, merch, writing updates, and mental health advice.

I have finished the first chapter of Sunflower Kisses Book 2! So far I've written 3,088 words. I don't have a word count goal, because I just want the story to flow naturally and at whatever pace is best for the storyline. I am working harder to develop the emotions of the characters and increase the conflict compared to Book 1. The reviews for The Seeds of Love: Sunflower Kisses Book 1 are rolling in. With an average review of 4.4 out of 5 stars on Amazon, there seems to be an appreciation of what readers are calling "a well-written and engaging romance novel with a twist."

I hope you enjoyed (Not) Alone. In honor of my one-year wedding anniversary, I’m making my second book, The Seeds of Love: Sunflower Kisses Book 1, FREE on Amazon.

But hurry, this deal is for today August 15th, 2021 only.

How to Warm Those Cold Thoughts

We all have moments where our thoughts turn colder than an arctic winter. The constant self-doubt that plagues our thoughts and the nagging voice in your head that tells you that you aren’t good enough. The thoughts that send chills down your spine and intrude on the good ones.

What is "Tea, But With Coffee"?

Ah, the mighty question: what is the meaning behind the name? You may be thinking that I have eccentric tastes and like to mix a little Earl Grey with my Cafe Bustelo. Alas, that is not the case. Though, I do still plan on trying that one day just for shits and giggles.

(Sani) 3. Daddy

I yelled out in pain, unable to hold it back anymore. My head fell back down to my chest, the fresh and warm blood curdling up in my neck rolls. I spit out blood, a red glob landing in front of me at my feet. “Daddy,” I started weakly. “Please.”

(Sani) 2. The Pelican

“Now listen to me. He will guide you to her. You will stop this nonsense,” Alo said from behind me as I began to shift back into my human form. “For whatever reason, she finds you worthy of her power. You’re going to need a guide to get to her. The journey only gets worse from here on out. It isn’t as simple as in and out.”

(Sani) 1. The Call

He looked around at the blood trail that led from behind him to where I sat. He examined the couch, turning from white to red the longer I sat there. I could feel the blood on my bare skin sticking to the couch as I shifted in my seat. “It was always about fun for you, Sani. That’s why the others made fun of you.”

Author Interview: S.L. Hollister

Sherri and I first met through a 'Shameless Self Promo' group on Twitter. From there we struck up a friendship, both of us being North Carolina authors and having connections close to my hometown. She is an amazing person who has hosted me on her blog several times. I am honored to have her on today.

Author Interview: Kelsey Anne Lovelady

Let me start by saying Kelsey is an amazing individual. I have known her for the last year and a half. We met during the Darkened Veil Universe project where I voiced the Cretan Creature Minotauros and she voiced the Witch of Camelot Morgan Le Fey. Our characters wound up married and Kelsey and I became really close friends. I’m excited and honored for her to be my first ever author interview.

Book Review: Chrome Pink (The Leeward Files Volume 1)

Chrome Pink by SL Hollister is one of those books that rips you into the pages. You yearn to read more about Rae, instantly feeling connected to her from the beginning. She gives a realistic look at a flawed character but flawed in just the right way.

Book Review: Skyrocket Your Career: The No Bullsh*t Approach to Find Your Dream Job, Be Successful in It, and Transform into a Rockstar

I started reading this book not because I was interested in changing careers, but because I’ve been in the mood for honest, truthful, and real self-help books. After all, we can always work on becoming our best selves. The title of the book attracted me to it initially.
