NACEB Summer Meeting
June 28-29, 2019 | Scottsbluff, Nebraska
You are invited to the summer NACEB meeting and Extension Board Member Development Experience. We will gather at the Legacy of the Plains Museum, 2930 Old Oregon Trail, Gering, NE at 5:00 p.m. MDT, LegacyofthePlains.org. You will enjoy interactive learning in this wonderful museum of prairie and Oregon Trail history while networking with fellow Extension Board members and Extension staff from across the State. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. MDT followed by a speaker from Kelley Bean Company, who will share the history of dry edible beans in Western Nebraska and their company’s involvement in the industry’s growth.
Saturday, June 29, we will convene at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center, 4502 Avenue I, Scottsbluff, NE at 8:15 a.m. MDT for registration, continental breakfast and welcome. We will board the field trailers at 9:15 a.m. MDT to experience tours of the test plots and hear narration from the specialists involved in the research and also tour the research labs and greenhouse inside` the Center. Wear comfortable clothes!
A working lunch is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. MDT when we will hear updates from NACEB Board members and Extension staff. From 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. MDT, we will participate in Extension Board Member Development utilizing Real Colors, facilitated by Jo Bek, Professor Emeritus NCTA. Tips on Public Advocacy will be given from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. MDT.
This is a very robust summer meeting enabling each of us to network, learn, grow and become better equipped Extension Board members. Take advantage of this opportunity. See you in Scottsbluff/Gering in June.
