|Welcome to the Resonate Testing February E-Newsletter.
Ramping Up At A Rapid Rate
The more observant among you will have noticed we are a little late with our January newsletter, so this is our new Bi-Monthly newsletter.
We have generated some great sales momentum in the first 6 weeks of the year and also increased our sales capacity via 2 new sales representatives based in England and Scotland. Alan Markwell and Neil Mahon are both highly experienced technical sales professionals who will add boots on the ground to ensure we provide a more effective and responsive service to our customers around the UK.
We have also increased our range of testing with the commissioning of new Environmental Test Chambers for temperature testing, which includes liquid nitrogen to enable rapid ramp rates and thermal cycling down to -100C.
Our test day for our schools competition - Shake, Rattle & Roll - took place on the 3rd February with 8 NI schools coming down to the facility to test their designs – it proved a fantastic day supported by CCEA, ADS and Robert Hill from NISO. Full Details below including the winner.
Over the back end of 2016 The Nacelle Group, covering NSC and Resonate Testing, completed certification to ISO9001 (this is in addition to existing AS9100, and ISO17025 Certifications from UKAS and ILAC). This gives us a single overarching quality approach to all Group operations and we will take this through 2017 as we ramp up customer numbers and ensure we are delivering excellent service to all.
Michael Thompson, General Manager
Welcome On Board
We are delighted to introduce two new members of the Resonate Testing Technical Sales Team:
These gentlemen bring many years engineering sales experience to our business and will ensure your requirements are understood and communicated concisely from the outset, allowing for accurate pricing and the development of practical and appropriate testing solutions.
Neil is based in Peebles, south of Edinburgh, and will be the local contact for our clients in Scotland and North East England. Alan, who is based in Staffordshire, will cover the rest of England and Wales.
Blowing Hot and Cold
To complement our Vibration and Fire Testing facilities, we can now offer a range of Environmental Tests, such as High Temperature, Low Temperature and Thermal Cycling with rapid ramp rates. We can also perform combined Temperature and Humidity tests.
We recently commissioned a Thermotron RSS – 16 – LN2 temperature testing chamber, with an impressive 16 ft³ of test space, capable of providing cooling and heating between ‑100° C to +200° C, with a ramp rate of approximately 20° C per minute if required. The cooling and heating capability of the chamber was commissioned in response to the most demanding aerospace and high-end engineering temperature variation requirements.
Additionally, our Weiss SB1 environmental chamber, with internal dimensions of H26” x W21” x D16.5”, offers a temperature range between +180°C and -40°C, with a ramp rate of approximately 3°C per minute. This chamber provides a 10-98% relative humidity.

Our Lady's 'Shake, Rattle & Roll' to Victory
Our Lady’s Grammar School in Newry secured themselves an opportunity of a lifetime by winning a trip to the UK Space Agency courtesy of Resonate Testing.
The ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ competition, which was endorsed by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), invited pupils aged 14-16 from across Northern Ireland to demonstrate their STEM skills by designing and building a cantilever structure representative of an Aircraft wing box.
The structure was then set up on the Resonate Testing vibration system and exposed to a 20G vibration environment. Our Lady’s Grammar School’s structure won by lasting the full test duration and being the lightest of the surviving structures - and they were announced as the inaugural ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ champions.

Committed to Quality
We're delighted that, following the UKAS audit of our fire procedures, covering aircraft power plant, seat burn, and cargo liner requirements, we have now been granted ISO 17025 Testing Certification for fire testing, adding to our existing certification for Flammability, Vibration and Shock Test Types. We have also extended our certification to be covered by the ILAC body.
It was a double celebration as The Nacelle Group has also been awarded ISO9001:2015, which demonstrates our overall commitment to attaining the highest quality standards appropriate to our industry and customer requirements.
