Dear <<First Name>>,

It's less than three months from the launch of Saruni Ocean in Msambweni, the pristine white-sands beach south of Diani, and there is palpable excitement in our office in Nairobi and among our teams! Finally the dream of the magic itinerary (Samburu - Masai Mara - Indian Ocean) becomes a reality. But this is not the only thrill of the season: we are offering our guests the possibility to be guided by safari legend Pete Behr; and we partner with our friends TropicAir in offering bi-plane and helicopter excursions in Northern Kenya. My favourite news of the month is the gift given to us by a guest, who, after taking many photos on safari, decided to describe the 36 "images" or emotions that she will keep in her heart for the rest of her life. They are so true!

Thank you for your support and have fun reading this newsletter!

Saruni Wild's "Totally Unforgettable" first review
Saruni Wild received its first review on TripAdvisor! Described as "totally unforgettable" and "a lifetime experience" by repeat Saruni Mara clients, we hope this is the first of many reviews to come! The review mentions how the guests "never got tired of returning" to Saruni Mara, and how "this time we even had the pleasure of enjoying a different way of living Saruni and its wilderness".  They describe the camp as a "beautiful set up" and "perfectly suited to our family needs", that "gives you the opportunity to watch amazing quantities of wildlife and admire beautiful landscapes". Click here for the full review, and if you have been to Saruni Wild, please leave us a review here!

Saruni Extras: helicopter excursions and private guides
Saruni offers extraordinary and life-changing safari experiences, as well as incredible extras, such as helicopter and biplane excursions and privately guided safaris with some of Kenya's legendary safari guides. Take to the skies, launching from our helipad, and explore the rugged northern landscape around Saruni Samburu.
Or come on safari with your own private guide, such as Peter Behr from Africa Endorsed. Pete is one of the best guides in Kenya, an "old school" ex-professional hunter devoted to the protection of wildlife. With an unmatched archive of stories accumulated in a lifetime, his deep knowledge of Samburu and the Masai Mara make him the perfect safari companion.
36 impossible photographs
Valeria Fazio, a guest who visited Saruni Mara recently, wrote a wonderful list of 36 things about a Saruni safari that are impossible to photograph - the unforgettable moments and experiences that even a camera cannot capture. We enjoyed the list so much, we thought we would share it with you! Here it is...
  1. Landing on a wild track among giraffes, zebras and wildebeest curiously looking at you.
  2. Walking in the bush with Queen Elisabeth and Kofi Annan, the two Mara rhinos, on a warm morning.
  3. Checking the soup in the pot boiling on the stove of a dark and warm Maasai hut…and imagining a different life.
  4. Driving through the bush in a dark night, led by the wind and surrounded by the bright eyes of wild animals.
  5. Realizing that during the night it’s very cold in the bush and the Saruni staff kindly put a hot-water bottle in your bed...amazing!
  6. The extraordinary sky of the Equator and its stars, a warm fire and a glass of red wine… a special set for evening talks with the Saruni staff and other guests.
  7. Asking Maasai guides "Tell me when you found yourself in great danger with a wild animal" and listening to their incredible stories, one more amazing than the other.
